and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. It wasnt rated well by the newspapers, They thought it was too tame. But the thing is its exactly like the book. The thing about turning books intto movies is hat they change so much its never as good as the book, but with twilight, it was almost the exact same as the book so anyone who loves the book will love the movie. And I fell in love with Edward. My boyfriend was getitng mad at me becuase I was so smitten with him lol. Anyone here seen it yet? If so what did you think?

I am another who didn't read the book and perhaps if I had, I would have been prepared for the biggest disappointment of all....my dumb girly disappointment which had nothing to do with the movie itself :) but with the gold contacts that all the vampires were wearing, or more specifically the gold contacts that Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) was wearing. In real life Jackson's eyes are emerald green and the only reason I didn't wait for it to come out on dvd was because I was so excited to see those gorgeous green eyes on 30 feet of digital projection. hehe Girly dumbness aside, it was a pretty swell film and I'd definitely recommend it to others who are into that sort of thing.

ooh, I'll have to seek out some real life pics of him. I'm not that good at knowing who actors are. but all of the vampires in these stories have either gold or red eyes, depending on their diet. so it shouldn't have been too great a shock, even if it's a shame to cover up lovely green eyes.

Jasper is cute in the film, but in real life the guy who plays him is gorgeous. I saw him on a pro active commerical! lol, very good looking for sure. I cant pick which one is cuter, they are all gorgeous in their own little weird ways. Jasper is just beyond cute, but edward has this untouchable kind of feel to him. Like the perfect guy in highschool you think bout being with but never have a chance with lol

http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3871446528/nm1717152 There are a few more but this is the best one (I think). Most of them are Twilight promo pics so they're of the whole group.

I liked it alot and I am picky when it comes to books. Very few can make me want to read them that badly. The last series that made me want to read them and not put them down till they were done was harry potter. I liked it better then harry potter, but mind you, if your a die hard fan of harry potter you might not think they compared. The four books from the twilight series arent even expensive either..I think the most youll pay is 20 bucks for one? the rest are like 10..15 dollars. I paid twenty for the new one the day it came out adn I paid ten for the first. I personally loved it, some people dont agree, but I couldnt put it down till i was done thats for sure.

I did the same thing with Harry Potter. I avoided all the craziness, didn't even see the first movie until the third one was in the theater. My ex-idiot and I had like EVERYTHING in common so when he loved the series, books and movies alike, I decided I was going to avoid them so at least that would be different. I started reading the books September-ish and I'm about halfway through the fourth book. I hadn't really been interested in reading the books (like I said above, I went to see the movie to see Jackson/Jasper) but since I have to wait until March for the next Dresden Files book to come out in paperback I might pick them up when I finish HP.

yes! I watched Twilight the day it came out. Edward was dazzling, and all of the vampire family is so beautiful and elegant!! Also, I loved the baseball scene. The whole thing was epically intense. I haven't read the book yet but I'm determined to! Also reading it after means I won't ruin any visions of how I originally imagined anyone. hehe. "yes. no. 1.722..."

lol even though i read the book before not many things were different then what I pictured. Rosalie was a bit dissapointing to me. In real like, nikki reed is dark skinned and brunette, so she looked very odd pale and blonde, not as stunningly gorgeous as i pictured rosalie (although nikki reed is beautiful) and the house is different then I pictured it, colourwise and size. I guess I was just expecting a mansion becuase of the cars they drive. I love during the lab scene where shes about to snap on him for hating her for no reasn then he awkward says hi and shes all confused lol. I had a few laugh out louds from the movie.

So you think the movie's good? My sister owns the entire series and its killing me not to read them as I have always been a book lover. The thing is, I don't really think I'd like it. I'm not really psyched about vampires and I thought Edward's face on the movie was too pale. Then again, so do wizards' (I love Harry Potter hehe) Hmmm... Maybe I'll give it a try...

Haha! Good point! Although, I've seen Robert on TMZ and he looked kind of pale as well. Maybe it was just all those lights from the cameras...

I haven't read the book though I have heard of it. My understanding is that it was originally aimed at teen-age readers, although the story has crossed age "boundaries" in terms of fans. So perhaps that is why the movie seems "tame" - if it is true to the book, and the book was not trying to be an ADULT vampire book, then to the jaded critics it MIGHT seem tame. Just my two cents worth.

I totally agree with you. I doubt they read the book because if they did they'd realizze the books pretty much the same as the movie. The girl probably could have shown a bit more emotion when it came to meeting this perfect guy. More girls would be a little more giddy then she was, aside from that I thought it was good. You're not gonna get and ex rated love scenes in this movie thats for sure, thats probably what the critics were looking for

Wow I can't wait to watch it. It has yet to be shown this Wednesday here in the Philippines. I will reserve my comments till then. Your discussion keeps me hopeful though despite the not so good reviews of the movie.

Went to see the movie last night. Even talked DH into coming with me. We both loved the movie. I liked it so much that I started the book as soon as we got home! The critics can say whatever they want. I thought that it was a good and a refreshing change from what Hollywood typically puts out.

I read all four books and watched the movie. I kinda rate it like a 3 because it was nothing special
