Well at Wally World today I actually found multi flavored Ribbon Candy early. Last year they ran out before I could get any. My loving daughter, minnie, bought me some last year though to satisy my cravings. Now I bought two boxes and should have bought more as I've eaten about 1/4 of a box already. This is a candy that isn't reaqdily available most times until the holidays. So when it's available I like to have a few boxes. Is there any particular candy you need to have for the Holidays at all? ANy that you can only find at this time of year as well? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I like a lot of the hard Christmas candy. But my all time favorite store bought candy for Christmas are chocolate covered cherries. My son and I love those and my mother used to always make sure we had plenty for the holidays.

I'm afraid those days of having a box full or a bag full are long gone. Would be nice if the box was full huh?

Candy shouldn't just be for the children eh Grandpa Bob! I think we all big kids at heart and this wolf ain't no exception, I love candy too! We have these candies or sweets as us Brits call them, called Drumsticks, and they are sweets on sticks, a chew in actual fact raspberry and vanilla chew and they are so delicious! We buy a few packs at a time they are relatively cheap and are a treat for mum and I on a Thursday night when the old man goes out ha ha ha!

Oh ths I know all too well as do my grandkids and my own adulkt children. They know my candy is mine. They also know I hide it most times and if it is out in the open they are welcomed to it but noone, and I mean noone, eats my last piece of any candy I have around. NOONE! I've seen those drumsticks previoulsy in discussions I started I think. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I love candy corn in the shape of the pumpkin which I can still get for .10 a bag on clearance, that is what I have been eating..I also like the ribbons, but they are hard to find. I also like the soft taffy like peppermint candy that have the trees in the middle..(don't know what they are called, but I love them) and of course the Candy Cane, yummy..

That's funny - I just today bought my mother some Christmas candy that has ribbon candy in it. I hadn't seen any in years and they also had some packed as JUST ribbon candy, too. But, she likes the variety assortment best of all, so that's what I got her. We go to the Amish market, so you can get it by the pound or half-pound or hundred-pound, whatever is your pleasure (assuming they have enough). I also learned they have chocolate-covered popcorn, which Mom wanted to give to her Meals on Wheels delivery person this year, so we don't have to pay the extra-premium prices for mail order. I know there's Amish in Indiana and Ohio, but if there are any up your way, you might check out one of their markets to see if they have any as well. If their prices weren't so darned high, I'd buy there more often. We regularly buy scrapple, sausage and dried beef there.

That's great. These were different colors, but I don't know if that means different flavors or not. I grabbed a red button from the bag and it turned out to be cherry cinnamon. Yum.

I like that candy too. I really like the taffy nougat mint candy, its hard to find and you can only get it at Christmas time too. I just bought a bag of dark chocolate mint truffle kisses, they are only available for a limited time. They once had dark chocolate Kit Kats, they were really good. Enjoy your candy, hopefully you will find some more.

You'd better get back to the store and buy yourself some more of that candy. I'll be surprised if it lasts til Monday. LOL! Not that I can have much but my favorite holiday candy is mint M&Ms or the mint Hershey's Kisses. I love those things. Now I can only have a few at a time because of the sugar, but you can bet I won't be sharing them. Teeheehee!

Grandma used to have the ribbon candy plus the hard kind that was a variety of solid colors and had fillings inside, usually fruit flavored. I loved the candy that had just plain cream inside it. I wish I could find that again! You know what else I love at this time of year? I'm haunting the stores in hopes of "honey tangerines". They are a slice (or several!) of heaven and I can barely wait for them to arrive! The whole 28 years I lived in Arizona, I couldn't get them and last year which was my first winter here in Ohio I finally got some. I must've eaten several dozen till they weren't in the stores anymore!

My stepdad has to have chocolate covered cherries he will go through 15 boxes atleast of them just for the Christmas Holiday. Of course he will eat a whole box of them in one setting. My grandma always bought that Ribbon candy she loved it. I buy it occasionally my problem is that I like to eat it to much and tend to eat to much..it is just to good to stop at one or two pieces

I just knew you'd get your ribbon candy, Grandpa Bob! Maybe you can run out and get some more, before the stock is depleted. As for me, my favourite holiday treat is 'Ferrero Rocher.' I know they're available at other times of the year, but Christmas is the only time I eat them. It just wouldn't be Christmas for me without them. My family is fully aware of this, as I start dropping 'unnecessary hints' early on.

Brandy Beans - Brandy-filled chocolate "beans".
Brandy beans! (Chocolate "beans" filled with brandy.) The "great love of my life" introduced me to them one Christmas long long ago and I've had 'em every Christmas ever since, even though the gloml is long gone...

They are delicious, but you'd have to eat an entire box before getting any kind of buzz, by which time you'd be feeling kinda sick... too much of a good thing.

I used to love ribbon candy as a kid. I can't even remember the last time I had it. I try to avoid store bought candy at holiday time so that I can stuff myself on homemade candy and baking.

Ohhhh, it's way beyond a sweet tooth. It is an addiction or even worse I fear. Ribbon candy is just a flavored hard candy stretched into a thin piece then folded into a ribbon shape. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
