According to a Polish proverb, one can work all her life but her children can only be young once. Do you agree with that?

Yes,I agree with it. I read that too before I became a mom. Maybe in a way, it stayed with me that is why I decided to be a stay at home mom. It just does not feel right for me to leave them to somebody else's care. I feel that I'm the one who's fully responsible of their well being, therefore I have to be with them and take care of their needs. And to add to the Polish proverb you mentioned. It had also been said that our children will need us through out their lives, but in different degree and kind. But when they are young, they need us to be physically there for them. So I think that it is best, if one has the chance [and interest] of staying at home with their kids especially when they are young. It would be worth all the sacrifices:) And I think being able to witness [and never miss] our child's milestone is enough compensation as it is to stay at home with them.

I do agree with that. I am a stay at home mom I have a 7 year old little girl. I love being able to help at her school and pick her up after school. I can always work when she is grown. I love being a stay at home mom.

Yes am am, I took care of a sister, 4 children I gave birth to and have 2 extra (because thier mother chose to party) and a grandchild (had 2 others but thankfully family helped. It is the hardest job I ever had I could of had a career and made good money but I looked around and everyone is to busy with jobs, life , party , and I just keep thinking who is going to take care of the children. kids come after school and want to play,(I must not be that mean or crazy if kids choose to play here under my rules. The ages !-5 are hard but also the most happiest.they are learning so much and i do not regeret giving up the money for them. I took small jobs off and on but my son said he missed seeing my face when he came home from school even though it was just to say I'm Home Mom! can I go play? those little things are the great things. I do feel that if it's possible a mother should spend the first few years with their child those are some great times...can be stressful too but everything has it's pro's and con's good luck to mom's who get to be full time mom's and good luck to the mom's who have to work to put a roof over their child's head my heart goes out to you too because life can be so hectic trying to be there for your kids, trying to work to pay bills and trying to get rest! Take care and GOD Bless you all!

I would like to agree but for me I am the only working parent. So I have to work to support my son. I wish I could be a stay at home mom, but my fiance lost his job and I have to feed my son.

Yes, I am a stay at home mom.And I do agree with that proverb, you see the older you get the more you begin to appreciate the little things of life.God gave them to us so we need to enjoy every moment with them. Let each day count, no matter how old they are.

yes i do agree with that because you can only see once the things they discover by themselves and all their accomplishments at that specific age. unfortunately, I'm an OW mom so its my mom who actually observe it. i just make sure that i communicate with them regularly. i love it when my eldest son will say hello to me over the phone and he will say his most expressive I love you. even though i don't see him, i can really sense how much he meant it.
