I personally use and have always used Microsoft's Windows operating systems. It's my opinion that, since it's so common and widely used, there is so much more support and advice for it than the others. I learned on Windows 3.1 (I'm aging myself, aren't I? LOL) and have found all of the versions over the years to be extremely user-friendly. Plus, I like the fact that they (Microsoft, et al) tend to stay on top of new technology and other worldwide trends. They're constantly updating or revamping things. Even though we get used to the current version we're using, at least they prepare us users for the changes coming and provide excellent support for us. I still use Windows XP - didn't switch to VISTA - which OS do you use?) I haven't really used Linux or Mac (are there others?) but, hey, "if it ain't broke, why fix it?"

I am using windows XP for 4 or 5 years now. I have used vista for a few days when my laptop was new and I felt like it was a punishment using the os. And so I downloaded the drivers for my laptop which supports xp and then I went back to xp. After all I have a licensed version of xp for which I have paid and that also I get free updates. So I am more confident and comfortable using windows xp. I hope that next os which Microsoft makes is not as bad as vista. -thanks! Amitav http://www.creativeporta.com
