Nice people get the shaft

Seriously why do nice people get treated like crap??? I consider myself to be nice at times, but by nature its who i am. you can say i get joy in making someone happy.. sounds weird i know. i feel like people see this and want to take advantage of it. Also in relationships, i know there is a sort of adventurous side of being with someone bad or mean.. but at what point to do say "hey,id like to be with someone who doesnt treat be like a dog turd"? And did i not get the memo on opening or holding open a door for people is consider rude. i cant remember the last time someone has said ty or done this for me. ok im done ranting..:)

It's funny you should say that about doors. I used to hold the doors open all the time, but stopped. People never said thanks. I do with people with baby carriages, though. I also say thank you on the rare occansions someone holds it for me. I think people can be selfish and forget that good people have feeling. Thus, good people get taken advantage of. I'm not going to lie, some people are users, though.

I certainly don't think you are wierd but I know exactly where you are coming from.
What we are talking about here is good manners and in my book there is absolutely nothing wrong in that.
Even if you have to fire someone there is a decent way to do it and an ugly way too.
Just stay as you are and ignore the thankless people that ignore you. They are not worth the effort.
