I love to get Chistmas Cards. And I think it is really sad that we no longer have a very strong tradition of sending Christmas Cards. There is comething very pleasing about receiving Christmas Cards and displaysing them in your home.

I'm not so sure it has to do with people forgetting about the true meaning of Christmas as it is people forgetting how to write and forgetting about patience and delayed gratification. When I was a child and long distance pnone calls were very expensive, people wrote letters. When I started university in 1969, phone calls were not so expensive, so we started making making more pphone calls and fewer letters, although the phone calls weren't cheap enough to completely stop writing letters. By the 1990s, I had access to really cheap phone service, and computers, I hardly ever wrote real letters and then only to people who didn't have computers or who were outside the United States. And now, everyone I know has a computer and my phone bill doesn't go up if I call someone across the street or across the country and to call overseas is just a little extra. I think we don't send Christmas cards because we have gotten out of the habit of sending almost anything by mail. We even pay our bills on line. And we don't want to wait for anything. -- I suppose that goes along with the commercialization of Christmas though. :)

I think tht Christmas cards are a way to tell someone special to you that you are thinking of that person this holiday season, and that you hope that person will have a really enjoyable Christmas. Cards have that personal touch that is lacking in electronic cards or text messages or e-mails, and I think I would be pleasantly surprised to receive one in the mail.

i agree i do send text messages and i think they would be shocked to see that i took the time to make or write out a card for them . a homemade card would mean more to me than a card you bought

Christmas cards are nice, but the past few years I just havn't found time to get them ready and send out. Most of our friends don't bother either. It gets quite costly as well. We were on a really tight budget last year ( and this year), so its not really affordable for us since we live away from most family and friends.

i don't think it's a waste of time. since my family and i all live in different states, i enjoy getting cards and letters from them. they also enjoy getting cards from me, i make all my own cards for all different holidays and occassions.and i enjoy making the cards myself.

No it isnt a waste of time, i think it is the way how you give it or recieve it. When someone give me a christmas card i would be happy to recieved it for the effort he make, that he still care and remember me in special occasion like that, i appreciate simple thing easily for i can feel my important to them as long it is given heartily. I also give christmas Card to my friends during christmas season and i think they also like it the way i see them receive the card i give, I guess it doesnt matter if it is only a christmas card for it is the thoughtfulness that counts not the thing.

Well, I think everyone will be happy to receive christmas cards. I do not think it's a waste of time to give christmas card, but I do think it's waste of tree. Nowadays I seldom send out any greeting cards, when I think of how many trees have been chopped off to make all these cards. Perhaps an e-card will be better, as we can still send out our greetings, also we can save the trees!

Christmas Cards are nice dont get me wrong but i really think its a waste of time sending themm fair enough sending them to family but when everyone sends cards to everyone in your street thats when i draw the line. my mother does cards every year and i dont see the point in it. i suppose its nice to recieve and give them but i dont see the point but thats just me.

Well I don't think it is a waste of time, for sending christmas cards. However I think it is a waste of money sending a card to my mother for example, who I see everyday and can wish her personally. However it is nice to recieve christmas cards from whom who haven't seen in ages. Like colledge friends and people who live abroad whcich shows that they didn't forget you :)
