Do you want to dye your hair?

To dye or not to dye? It's an aged old question. Bleach-happy Ancient Greek heros reddened their hair into a fiery symbol of courage, while their Roman counterparts used natural dyes to darken their locks. During the 1700s, French women used powder to tint their tresses shades of blue, yellow, pink and white (punk rock pioneers). Today, about half of all American women colour their hair, and men are getting in on the game in record numbers. Due to high salon prices (or temporary bouts of creativity), more and more people are dyeing their own hair. You've seen these people walking around-they can usually be identified by turts of fried orange hair peeking out from beneath large hats. But a home-hair-colourist's best weapons against hair dye mishaps are careful planning and knowledge. So tell me whether you want to bring back the colour of your youth or are simply interested in trying something new?

To dye for sure. My hair is getting grey around the gills. Those little tufts of grey hair here and there make me feel unkept and not very attractive so I dye it. Home dying is really very nice because of the new technology in the dyes now days. No more smell and the highlights are lovely. I am trying to bring back the color of my youth which was a medium brownish red with copper highlights. Hard to get back to the right color.

It's not hard to get your natural colour. Only thing is you have to mix few colours together to get your perfect colour. Thanks for responding.

You don't get permanant hair colours. So when the white hair grows you have to colour it again. Best thing is to color your hair at home and you'll have to do it atleast once a month. At this age more and more white hair is going to appear no matter you like it or not. ha ha

I like to dye my hair sometimes. I've learned that I can't highlight mine at home or it turns orange. But I can dye it red at home and it comes out the same as when I have it done. Right now though I'm growing my hair out for donation so I can't dye it until I cut it off. It's too long to easily dye anyway.

i've been dying my hair for the past couple of years. i love to try new colours whenever i do it, but i'm more inclined towards reddish or brown coloured hair dye.

I often dye my hair. My natural hair colour is blond, but I prefer red hair, so when I dye my hair I always choose a red colour. I have had different kinds of red hair over the years, and I always dye my hair on my own. There has been a few times where the result wasn't exacty the colour that I wanted, and where my hair got more brown than red, but I have never dyed my hair orange or green by mistake. In the beginning I always chose a hair dye that didn't last more than 4 or 6 weeks, but now I use a permanent dye instead.

My hair is in black color, and I never dye it into other colors. When walking on the street, I can see some chinese girls dye their hair into different colors, Some of the colors looks nature and beautiful, and there are times that I have the impulsive to dye my hair, but when I am about to do that, I will quit my thought, I like my hair to be more nature. And I think I am more pretty when I look nature. Some girls do look better when they dye their hair, but I am not that type.
