I'm frustrated with some Ciao postings!!!

I have been a member of Ciao for just two days. I make a point to write reviews based on my own experiences. But when I try reading other member's posts, it is so disappointing to see that some seem to only copy and paste products' features from other websites and just add a little bit of trivia without mentioning anything if they personally used them or not. What's the point of making a review when you haven't used or even seen a product personally? It's not even an opinion for goodness sakes. I know we all want to earn extra from the internet but I strongly believe that we have to do that by being honest in helping other people make intelligent choices based on what we share.

one of the reasons i do not join ciao is that i do not have extensive knowledge about the products' features that they offer... and i would not compliment the earnings that i could get from them with a dishonest and uninformative review... i think that's what others miss in exchange of greed over incomes... i'm deeply troubled by that...

hi! thanks for the response. i agree with you. dishonesty is not the way to go. however, you can still try your hand at ciao. i'm not a techie person myself so i don't review the electronic gadgets i have no idea about. but when it comes to music and movies, i have a lot to say since my family are all film buffs. i'm sure there are products there that you have used or shows you have watched. you just have to search for them. good luck :)

You are right .Think because of that only they have reduced the pay from 1$ to 25 cents. This may reduce the traffic there.

Why are you frustrated? If somebody copying and pasting prove it and report, Ciao will close accounts of those people. If you dont like their reviews rate them ``not helpful`` for example and if others think as you they will rate negatively also and that member will not earn anything, also other readers will not read then that person will just leave ciao because of not earning.

Wouldn't you be? When you go read a review of a product you're considering to buy and can't find anything that remotely expresses what the reviewer personally experienced about it?

I am a member and joined back when it was a dollar per review. When they changed it to $.25 per review I left. You are going to see sooooo many people doing that. Start giving them poor ratings. Money is taken away and if they retaliating giving you a poor rating they'll get kicked off. Maybe money being taken away will teach these people a lesson. Back when it was $1 I spent lots of time on my reviews and now that it's $.25 I couldn't justify the time investment so I started putting more effort into starting my online business. They're going to lose a lot of good reviewers now. Back when it was a dollar I even saw someone leave a review for a product that he thought is a good product but didn't even own the thing. I think it was an ipod. He just wrote enough words to get $1. People like that ruin it for everyone.

Yeah, I agree. There are people who do something just for the money and not with any desire to at least help anyone else. That is sad. But no, I don't want to give people poor ratings just to teach them a lesson. I don't want them retaliating by rating me negatively when I am working hard to make all my reviews a reflection of my own experiences with the products I use. I have no assurance that they'll get kicked off by doing that. Sure, I'll add you up at Ciao. Thanks for sharing :)

Oh my user id is ajs002004 if you're curious about my reviews on there. I think next month's payout will be my last on there.

Have to admit, I'm scared about the negatives too. :-)
