Peanut Butter Balls

My husband loves peanut butter balls. Every year he asks his stepmother to make some and she says she might and she never does. I've never made them before and I don't even know how to make them. He said he wants her to make him some this year since he hasn't had any in years but she probably won't make them. I would make some for him but I know they probably won't turn out as good as hers. But I might look up a simple peanut butter ball recipe and try to make them. Do you make peanut butter balls for the holidays? Or is there anything that someone just loves to eat and you make it specially for them during the holidays?

Are you talking about Buckeyes? Those are really good...peanut butter centers dipped in chocolate. You should be able to find many good recipes online if you do a search for Buckeyes candy.

I asked him if they were dipped in chocolate and he said yes. So I looked up peanut butter ball recipes and found a bunch of them. Some are dipped in chocolate and some aren't and there are some that you mix with corn flakes and some you mix with Rice Krispies. So I think I might print one of the simple sounding recipes off. LOL Hopefully when I make them they will taste good. LOL He said he didn't want me to make the ones with the cereal so I guess those are out.

The ones in chocolate are called Buckeyes because they look like the Buckeye nut from the tree. Do a search for Buckeyes and you should also find some good recipes. Have fun.

Here is a recipe for them. You could sub the Rice Krispies for corn flakes to make them the other way too. They are similar to buckeyes except the buckeyes don't have the cereal in them. CHOCOLATE COVERED PEANUT BUTTER BALLS 2 c. peanut butter 1 lb. powdered sugar 1 stick butter 3 c. Rice Krispies Mix well. Make into small balls. Chill thoroughly. In top of double boiler melt: 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 1/8 cake paraffin

Oh, this sounds like the chocolate peanut butter flavored rice krispy treats people make here. Only they aren't in balls. They are in baking dishes and cut out in squares.

I'm going to make some sugar cookies this year and I got some sprinkles for my little boy to put on them. I thought he would have fun doing that. I love the white chocolate covered pretzels...yummy!

The peanut butter balls (Buckeyes) that I make are 1 stick of butter 2 cups peanut butter Confectioners Sugar 1 tsp vanilla Just keep adding the sugar until they are at the consistancy that you want (no too dry)where you can handle them and roll into balls and dip in melted chocolate. If you want you can leave the very top uncoverd and then they look lik Buckeyes. Good Luck

Well I have never heard of peanut butter balls. You might be talking about buckeyes and I live in Ohio the state of buckeyes, I have never made them but I have ate them and they are good. They are pretty easy to make and it can be done. Take care and happy mylotting to you.
