Well this is a world of compact things nowadays. Well, then what would you prefer, a desktop or a laptop. Well i had a desktop before on which i used to do hell loadsa graphical work, and because of that, the CPU got burnt. Lol. Then i bought a laptop with a appriciable config, but its not that capable of doing my work for me as my previous pc used to. I think, laptops are just good for presentations and not for heavy duty work. I will still prefer desktop. What about you guys.

Laptops are very good in mobility but can't compare to the desktop pc's when it comes to performance and price. Desktop pc's are lot cheaper than laptops even if you choose to upgrade it. The only thing good about laptops is its mobility that you can bring and use it anywhere you preferred. If you're like a mobile person then laptop would be your best choice but if not better choose a desktop. I do have a laptop at home but then I find it hard to use it because I feel like I'll break it or something whenever I use it LOL. Desktops are more on a wear and tear thing so its very easy to use.

Yup thats one thing. Laptop is good at mobility, but its very very delicate. I mean the way i can use my desktop, i cant use my laptop. I keep heavy files for rendering for days together which can go upto even week. I cant do that on my laptop. :(. So now i shall buy a new pc.

Well...you have already found your reason to choose between laptops and desktops...like what you have mentioned...laptop offers mobility and is a great tool for presentation...however, it lacks the performace offered by a desktop and is more costly in comparison. Laptops are also more cost saving (energy)...as all the parts are integrated...it is less likely to consume more power than your desktop...

I would prefer a laptop because nowadays laptops are becoming as powerful as desktop. Your laptop may not have handled your heavy work as it may not have high configuration. I love portablity too. As the prices of extreme configuration laptops are coming down, I think people will soon start replacing their desktops with notebooks.

well, if you want for stable system, you can opt for desktop pc but they consume a lot of space... if you want a portable, mobile system, you can buy laptop... but you have to consider about the battery period, the hardware and the stuff you want inside it... so, it depends on what system you like... either way, both pc and laptop are good to purchase...

I think desktops are much more stable, but I love the portability of my laptop.

first you need to understand the plus and minus between PCs and laptops. in PCs we can upgrade and append certain things which is not possible in laptops. also the highest configuration available in a PC is not available in a laptop. laptop is for convenience, that is, when you want to move and work then it is useful. also it is not for working 12-16 hours a day. it is not meant for that. but PCs can be for rugged use. hope i have given some useful info.

i support laptop because they are so easy to carry around but on think i do not like laptop is that i think they tend to go old very fast like a few years. And as for desktop is easier to replace the driver that are needed, and for laptop i jsut but a new one

I use to have a desk top, but it is no longer working. I purchased a laptop and I love it I can use it in my room. The desk top was in another part of the house and I had to go there to use it. I prefer the laptop hands down.

Well, I do prefer laptop over a desktop since I need to my work with me always. Even if I have my flash drive, I still find it uncomfortable because computers are not really given to every department and the pc that we have now is way too old and needs replacement. Also, with the modern technologies, I am using computer designed program for teaching in class but since we don't have computer for every class room, I have to provide my own computer to make sure the student will be familiarize with the program

I think desktop is far better choice than a laptop.Because desktop is really durable than a laptop and also cheap too.Only doing internate while you are roaming is the advantage of a laptop.

I have that delimma just recently of what to buy a laptop or a desktop. But eventually I decided to get the laptop instead. But I like to get the desktop. a laptop is not good for loads of grapical works as I have told because it cant hold a lot of programs unlike the desktop. but it is easier to carry with you specially if you need to show presentations as you say. But you can work anywhere wih your laptop.
