Do you like your provider?

I use Verizon, and for the most part it's fine. I've had some problems in the past. I have DSL, and for about a year my internet connection would go out as soon as the phone rang. The internet provider said it was my phone line, but the phone company said it was the internet line. Neither would do anything about it, both saying it was someone else's fault. Funny thing is... both were through Verizon! Somehow that issue was solved and I haven't had a problem in months, knock on wood. But now I seem to be having another problem, and I'm not sure if it's Verizon or Outlook Express, but there are many times when my e-mail won't go into Outlook Express and I have to sign on to Verizon's website to view my mail. It's really not a huge deal, just sometimes and inconvenience. Other than that I have no issues. My internet is inexpensive yet it's just as fast as cable. It doesn't go out as often as it did when I had cable, actually the last time it went out was when I was having that problem with the phone. At one point or another I've had Time Warner, AOL, and NetZero. NetZero was the absolute worst because it would just go off after half an hour of being online, for no reason at all. AOL wasn't so great either, and I had to completely restore my computer to get all the AOL programs off it, plus it was nearly impossible to cancel, and they still charged me for months after I'd had the service terminated. Time Warner wasn't awful, just expensive, and it would go out in bad weather. I like Verizon better than any of the other providers I've tried.

I used to have DSL through Verizon and loved it but then we moved and it's not available at my new address. We have Comcast now. I liked it until our new neighbors moved in across the street. We have wireless and so do they, also through Comcast. Our internet connection now jumps back and forth between our router and theirs because they don't have a secure network.

We have DSL through AT & T, our phone provider. Both come in on one line (the telephone line), but there is a splitter in the box outside and on line comes directly to my husband's computer, so need for filters on any of our phones. We've never had a problem with that. What we do have a problem with is our DSL service going off and on, and mostly in the late afternoon or evening hours. My husband thinks it's in the modem since we never had a problem with our older modem. We were having trouble with something else and the technician thought it was the modem, so he too it off and we've had problems ever since!

We do have to use a filter, and it usually has to be replaced every couple months or it causes problems. That gets to be a pain. I hope you can get your issues resolved.

We had a bad experience with a stupid technician once and my husband hates to call them. They guy told us he'd have us cut off if we called in again since we are out of the area that they cover around here - too far out. But, BellSouth is the one that let us have DSL;otherwise we wouldn't have it. But he had this guy's boss to tell him he had no reason to tell us that because he couldn't do that. And they'd get the problem fixed - only my husband fixed it himself. But he can't fix this one. But he still refuses to call them and report it again. I'll get mad enough myself one day to call them. We might eventually get Satellite.

I use Plus Net, which has been my ISP for about 6 years now. When I first decided to move to broadband I spent a complete Sunday on the internet looking at all the providers and finally settled for Plus Net. I have had virtually no issues over this period and have been totally happy with the service. The cost is fairly high compared to many at present, but with the horror stories that many of my friends have referred to I consider the price to be worth paying.

Our internet is Comcast cable modem and it suckssss... It goes out at least once a day! We call and get a dollar off our bill every day. We have had 4 different modems (that we pay them for). It sucks!

We have comcast for our internet. they are ok though they charge too much. it is the only thing we can get where we live unless we want dial up. verizon hasn't made it this far yet. they are a good bit cheaper, but we are too far from their stations or whatever. even if we could get it it would probably be slow.
