There is a warning from the police department stating that there is a new way of car jacking that is going on in parking lots in many cities. This applies to both men and woman. Be careful, especially around the holidays.
When you get into your car, you start it up and then look in your rear view mirror, you may see a piece of paper on your rear window. Do Not get out of you car and get it off! This is where the car jacker takes over. He/She gets in your car and takes off.
Think about this, you already started your car, he now has your keys, if you are a female and carry a purse, that is also left in the car and maybe your cell phone also. He has all you info, credit cards, home address and just may be on the way to your house.
If you see any kind of paper or anything else on your windows, wait until you get home or to a safe place down the road to remove it. Be Smart, Be Safe!
Happy Holidays!

Thanks very much for this great advice and warning everyone about this crime. It is certainly going on a lot now as moneys tighter. Not that this gives people the right to do this or anything but crime is really on the rise. I will certainly remember your tips whem I am out in my car now. I will not get back out once I am in there now.

Thanks for you response. Car Jacking happens quite often, some of the car owners are also stuck in the car with the person taking your car. Can you just imagine if you had a child in the car and went to remove that flier or piece of paper. Horrible to think about. Like you said, crime is at an incline in most areas due to the poor economy.

Times are getting tough for all and this sort of thing is happening in the cities and near the malls here. This technique has not been used here as far as I know, however the car jacking is. It is just smart to keep an eye on your surroundings, get into your car and lock it then start it. We all have to try to be safer.
