What brand digital camera do you have? Do you like it?

Hello my dear fellow mylotters, It is November 28th, 2008 today. After I finished my work this afternoon, I went to ZheBei Mansion, a big mall in my local town, to buy a digital camera as everything in the mall is on sale because of their promotional activities these days till December 7th. I bought a new digital camera there. It is Sumsung S760. It is 7.2 mega pixels. It is cheap. It cost me only 900 RMB, the original price of which is 1350 RMB. My old one is a Canon one, which cost me 4700 RMB when it was bought in 2004 and it is only 4.0 mega pixels. It is so good that the price of digital cameras is much lower than it was. With this new digital camera, I am sure that I will have a lot more fun for its better functions than my Canon one. Here is a picture of my digital camera for you to have a look. So my dear friends, what brand is your digital camera? How do you like it? Thank you so much for your response. Good day and take care, my dear friends. Love from williamjisir

I have an oldish Nikon dSLR. I am definitely a fan. I already had some lenses for my traditional SLR, so it was an easy decision to make. I also have a tiny canon digital elph. I don't think that they call them that anywhere, but in my mind that is what it is. I'm glad I bought that, because it's not much bigger than a deck of cards, so I can take it anywhere, and especially places where my Nikon is too bulky. It has relatively quick focus, and it takes decent shots. I still love my Nikon more though.

It's great that you got your new camera! Now you can enjoy the fun of photography even more with new functions and picture quality that you have never tried before. I used to have a 4.0 mega pixel Olympus camera. But I couldn't recall the model, because it's at my home town now. The picture quality is excellent but the only drawback is the power consumption is too high. I need to replace the battery after half a very short time. So, I seldom use it now. I prefer to use the cell phone camera, because they are getting better and better. Of course they can't compete with the full spec camera, but they are really handy. I am planning to buy the water proof camera by Olympus (the u-series), because I think it's cool to take picture underwater

Thanks a lot! I have checked it out that day in one of our local store. Its price is about RM899 here. To me it's affordable, but I believe its price will be reduced further, especially when the economy recession is coming. Water proof camera suits the careless person like me well. I will no longer need to worry about splashing water on my camera accidentally.

Oh, I am sorry for that. My Samsung one has "image stabilization", so it sounds good to me.

Hi, I tried to take photos without flash but the problem is that a bit of shake will make the photos blur.

Hi! ITs great that you have a nice camera and at a sale at that!^_^ My digicam is a Fuji f40fd. Has 8.3 MP, good in low light conditions, and just the right size for me. I would have preferred a Canon that was the smallest one to date but I went with the Fuji. Costs less and am mostly taking pictures indoors so thought its the best option for me. It also has a dual shot mode so I can choose between two shots taken one after the other. One is taken with a flash and the other uses natural light. Has 25MB of internal memory and Ive taken advantage of that. Its because I havent bought a memory card for it yet. Is okay, its a year old now but still does the job. Thats whats important^_^ Enjoy your camera!

Well, good for you my friend! The samsung is a good camera. At 900RMB that is really cheap! I am using the older S50 from canon. Still serving me fine. Although I have upgraded to the DSLR, I am still using the canon S50 from time to time. One of the better PnS cameras I have ever used.

I own a Canon A80, which is several years old now. The only problem is that the battery life is quite low, which is unlike modern cameras. I also have a camera cellphone which is good, but it only has a digital zoom and it's difficult to hold it still enough to get a picture without blurring.

Hi.. My camera uses 4 X AA batteries. I used rechargable ones but when I go out, I need to make sure I have plenty of batteries with me. I also have a cheaper vivanco that is more modern. It only uses 2 X AA batteries but lasts much longer than the Canon. I think modern Canons are much better now on batteries though. Otherwise they are an excellent camera.. Derek

Hello derek. I am so sorry that the battery does not last long when being used to take photos. But have you thought about getting a new battery for it so that it lasts longer, please? This new camera of mine has the function of image stabilization. I like it partly for this function. Happy posting, friend.

[1]Hello williamjisir, My first digital camera was a sony with about 2.0 mega pizels. It is still a good camera with less functions to work with. It is still good to use up to now. Recently I bought a Canon 6.0 mega pixels camera with good features. Unfortunately it's quite bulky to used for daily picture taking and so if I have some money I am planning to buy a much smaller one that's easy to carry. I don't how much it's cost but it's not pricey. Regards.[/i]

Hello robert. I also love small digital cameras as they are more convenient to carry around. So these two digital cameras that I have are small, especially the former one, I mean, the Canon 4.0 mega pixels camera. This new one of mine is a little bit bigger than the Cannon one. But I love it. Thank you for the response, dear friend.

I've Panasonic FZ28, 18x optical zoom, CCD lens, camcorder mode, everything one looks in a camera. Pretty good to have it around. Takes amazing pictures. I bought it at around $400 bucks but with accessories like tripod, memory cards, extra battery, casing etc. it was over $500. Now, it's price is dropping like I envy much of time.

Hello my dear friend, Daffodil. Thank you so much for the fast response. I have a Nikon coolpix 8.0 megapixel. I am happy with my very first digital camera. It is very easy to use and adjust. I love photography I want to have an advanced camera in the future. I love taking pictures of different kinds. I believe that in taking pictures you have to focus on the subject you are trying to capture. Thank you my friend for this post. I didn't know that samsung cameras are pretty decent, but I was considering the digital cameras from samsung, but I actually read bunch of negative comments about a few of those models.. well I'm not going to say they are all right or wrong, it's just what I read from some of the reviews from the consumers. I currently don't own a digital camera, but I used to. Not anymore, because I was probably lucky and sold my old digital camera for like $80, which was april 2008. Now that model I sold on ebay is worth like $10 to $20 from what I read online. Oh by the way, here in America, there are huge savings going on here too, because they call it Black Friday lol (it's a friday, a day after American Thanksgiving) and the savings are AWESOME!! and some funny stories about black fridays here and there.. anyway have a nice day and congratulations on your new digital camera :)

I DID have a digital camera that I bought in March of 2008. Then in October 2008, it was stolen. But it was a Sony Cybershot 8.1 Megapixel camera. I got it for a good deal and it was a good camera...it took good pictures, it was easy to carry around because it was small, and there were lots of features on there. But now I have to get a new one since someone was selfish and stole it. I still have my old digital camera, which is an Olympus 3.0 or 3.1 Megapixel, but it is AMAZING at the difference the number of Megapixels makes.

Hi there Willi. My old Camera is a Genius 1.3 Mega Pixel camera with 16 MB of memory. I paid about 45 US dollars for it at that time (3 or 4 years ago). This year i have bought (with my girlfriend) a new digital Camera - it is a Genius model as well and it has 6.0 Mega pixels and a 3X optical zoom and a 4X digital zoom. It has 32 MB of memory (or 64, i can't remember exactly ) and a Secure Digital Card of 2 GB - It came with the 2 batteries and charger included in the price of about 70$.

I have an Olympus mju 1030 it's waterproof for 5 meters and shockproof for more than 2meters. I appreciate that I don't have to worry about breaking it while I'm on a trip and that spilling water over it wouldn't also destroy it. Also, having a point and shoot camera is very fun to have in trips. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Congratulations! dear friend. You've got so nice a camera. I bought a sonay digital cameral several years ago. It is bigger and thicker than yours. It looks a little bit clumsy. It cost me about 2500RMB at the time. I plan to change one because it is of only 3.2 mega pixels and takes longer time to finish photographing after you press the button. Now, we sedlom take photos with this camera during our free time except when we travel to somewhere. Last year, Sony company got into trouble since some of their digital camera have quality problems. They retrieved many digital cameras of certain models. We are lucky that our camera is not in the list.

But now, he is my husband, and my baby's father :-) It cost us 2500RMB. It is Nikon, but I forget the concrete type. I think it's cool, with a wholly black appearance. I like it!

Hello pauline. Back to a few years ago like 2004, it was very expensive to get a digital camera. I bought my first digital camera with the brand Canon in the fall of 2004 and it cost me 4500 RMB, and within one year, I found the price of the same type of Canon camera was getting cheaper and cheaper. Though it was expensive then, I enjoyed myself a lot with my Canon. What is interesting is that the color of both my digital camera is silver. I like this color. hehe. Good day, friend.
