I worked as a letter carrier for 18 years so I walked many miles every day, up to eight or nine hours. I'm not sure the exact number of miles but one person who had done the route I did for years before me said it was 15 miles. It sure FELT like it sometimes! Walking is a fantastic exercise. All the years I carried mail I was constantly told I needed to gain weight. I could eat whatever I wanted to without gaining an ounce. The other parts that went went the mail delivery wasn't so good, though, so now I've got four herniated discs in my back, spinal stenosis, severe arthritis and all that good stuff from carrying the heavy bags and all the bending and lifting.

i like walking for the benefits it give us. first it is a good exercise. so all good things associated with doing exercises are acquired.
i usually walk 2-3 kms in the morning and 2-3 kms in the evening. i think that keeps me healthy. i can see the difference after i made up my mind to walk. i can realise that i am getting sick less number of times than usual.i used to get cold and fever very frequently but now the scenario has improved.
so if you are not walking, start now.
happy mylotting.
