Would You Walk In Right After You've Passed Gas?

I know that farting is a natural thing and that's what humans do right? Well I took my baby to her appointment last week and we we're sitting near the door where people walk in. Right before this guy walked in, he released some gas really loud, and then he just opened the door and walked in. The people that he sat next to we're frowning up and holding their nose. One lady said "why didn't you wait outside until the smell went away" then she got up and moved to another seat. Maybe he couldn't hold it in, so he let it go, that's OK, but would you had of stayed outside until the smell vanished? If so, how long would you have waited? I would of waited outside and let the air suck it in, then I would of walked in, because I don't want nobody smelling me. What about you?

Okay, I REALLY have to go to bed now. I just wanted to read your other responses here, miracle. Pat, you've given me probably the BEST laugh I've had! I pictured you looking around so innocently! HAHAHAHAHA! You devil you! Don't try that if you're ever in an elevator with only one other person, though. That person is bound to know that you did it!

Hahaha! I know several people that do that. If it does happens to slip out, they would look around so people won't think the horrible smell came from them.

I could understand if you're in a room full of people and the gas just slips out. That's different because you couldn't control it.

I would wait to enter. Gas lingers. I know it is an everyday body function, but in truth it stinks. I would not want to smell it on someone, so I think it is only common courtesy to do the same for other people.

I agree. I don't want to smell anyone else's fart either. It would be nice if people like that could treat other's the way they want to be treated.

This lady should be glad that the young man let out something that the doctors says is good for Blood Pressure. Well it is said that some people smells are out of this world but maybe the guy didn't know that the smell would be coming in the room with him. It is human nature and I don't make it bother me.

Oh, I'd definitely wait! That smell follows you around for awhile! I don't know if this is a fact or not but I've noticed that men tend to have the stinkier farts. I mean, we all do it... it's a natural thing. Women tend to keep theirs concealed better, though. Men just let 'em rip! Sure, most people are discreet in public, even men, but there are the very noticeable exceptions, unfortunately. Apparently, that guy didn't care what other people thought about it. Farting is one thing and sometimes you just can't hide the really big ones but you can leave the stinky ones outside, please and thank you very much! Sharing is not always pleasant! My husband is so very proper in public. He'll hold them in until his eyes are crossed! Once he gets home, though... Whew! He's kind to me, though. He always tells me to keep my distance if his are of the stinky variety. But, when he's asleep... oh, man! I have to get out the air freshener sometimes!

Hahahahaha! Thank you, miracle! That's the second great laugh I've had today! On that note, I think I'll head for bed. Always good to go to sleep with a smile.

I can't stand to smell my own fart, you know I'm not in a mood to smell someone else's. I respect nature to the fullest, but it doesn't mean that I have to like it. Hehehe! It stinks. Whew!

That was rude of him and he should have waited. If he had known it was going to happen, he should have run to the restroom..of course we all know, that you dont always get that warning lol

This is really funny! You see, my friend, I am an expert in farting without making any sound. So, the smell doesn't bother me. Of course, it bothers others, but first let them prove I farted!! Cheers and happy mylotting

I would probably walk a short distance away, out of view of the people in the office, then come back in, especially if someone entered the office during that time! The guy could always have said, "I'm so sorry-that's why I'm here" indicating that it was a medical problem. Nobody could've justified criticism then!

I know its a natural thing to do, and everybody does it, but I think its rude to do it in public then have everybody smelling it. I would of moved away from him too probably...lol. I myself would have waited outside till the smell went away before I walked in, like you, I don't want anybody smelling me, or I wouldn't want anyone to know it was me...lol.

maybe that person just pretend that he did not mind being caught farting in public. it was a humiliating thing if that happened to me. i had some share of hearing farting in a room. and i was trying to find where it came from. i was so sure it was from the person sitting 3 feet away from me. but it didn't smell though. ha ha. i don't want actually to remember that incident. but that person actually said that he had stomach problem or had some diarrhea one hour before he actually farted.

That guy must have the guts! I know farting is very natural but farting and not minding who'd hear or smell you is kind of like picking your nose in public. That wasn't good manners at all, in my opinion. There are times though, when you can't hold it in, but then you'd have to excuse yourself just so you wouldn't bother anyone, or embarrass yourself in the process. For me, it's a matter of respect to others.

I'm not that brave to let it go like that.
