Dont get me wrong I have nothing against enlightening people against diseases and other worthwhile causes.my problem though is that I dont think a single day will suffice I would rather and extended campaign lasting for months. That way I am sur e person would get the message after constant reinforcement of the message through advertisement, walks and other events.

This is a good topic. The thing is as big as an event as they may make these "days" they always only last a day. You figure what good could it have done? If one person learns something new, or gets tested or passes on some information, I guess it did some good, no matter how little or how much. I used to volunteer to feed the homeless when I lived in New York with a group called A.D.A.M. We would go out every other Sunday and set up our table in Harlem and get it popping. I felt real satisfied knowing we helped so many people out but I had the same sense of regret when it was over. At least we came back more than once a year but same point. I wondered what these people did the next day? But I know they were happy to see us on those Sundays! So I guess as long as that one day was in place to stir up awareness or money or whatever, if at least one life is changed, it does help. maybe not as much as we'd like but it is better than doing nothing at all.

To explain something as serious as Aids would need a month one day a week, because it is just not accepting the disease ,theres learning to live with it, medication, how to tell your loved ones.how to prepare for the end ect,so I agree with you on this one.x

This is true, I still think one day is better than no day. We definitely need more than one day for these causes in general, but any little bit helps.
