Christianity vs. Radical Islam?

While Christianity is still the number one religion in the world how many people feel that radical islam will be the new religion in the future? I feel that it will be once the rapture takes place. Which the rapture is at the door and could happen any moment. We just need to be ready. What do you think?

Radical Isalam is a small minority and hopefully will stay that way as will radical christianity. It is always the fanatics that you hear about in the media. You never hear about the good stuff. It would be nice if both sides would get control of their fanatics. The Muslims need to get control of the fanatical terrorists and the christians need to stop going where they know they should not be. Muslims do not want to be converted and they do not want their relatives converted. Now is not the time to be proslytizing in their areas. If your religion is good enough they will come to you. The same goes for the Muslims. They should let the world come to them and not force the issue. Shalom~Adoniah

I agree, and unfortunately people see the bad things in the news and assume that all people in the religion are like that. They don't take into account all of the people who are trying to do good things through their religion. They also refuse to understand that there are people who are so desperate.. whose country is always in a state of war and oppression that those who are weak in faith are drawn into radical Islam, not necessarily because they are bad people, but because they don't know what else to do and because they are convinced that it is the only way to make a difference. Putting Muslims down and insulting their faith certainly isn't going to help the problem... killing terrorists only breeds more terrorists... trying to convert Muslims insults their faith... there are many ways to help build peace in the middle east but war and conversion attempts and discriminating against Muslims aren't peace building techniques.

All religions are a Scam which was perpetrated on humanity by shrewed business men almost 2000 years ago. These men were not interested in anything more than making money, and there has never been a more successful business venture in the History of the world. However its not all bad news. As time passes and the world gains knowledge with each passing day, Humanity becomes more intelligent. As this knowledge grows people will increasingly grow restless with the Same Old, Same Old, religious propaganda which never changes, and has started wars and murdered millions in the name of God and Allah since the Scam began. Soon there will be a new beginning and people will stop with the religious bigotry, and begin to love their fellow man, and peace and love will dominate.

All religions were perpetrated on humanity 2000 years ago? That doesn't quite line up with history. Only two major religions emerged and thrived about 2000 years ago. And while I can see that after the arab conquests one could come to assume that they were after money, what exactly is it about Christianity 2000 years ago that makes you feel that they were after money? Some of the scams regarding money that came about in the Catholic church happened much later. The men who wrote the books in the new testament certainly didn't stand to profit anything.

Some form of religion has been around as long as man has been around. There have only been a couple of tribes of people that truly had no religion in the history of mankind. That is a little longer than 2000 years and there were no businessmen back then. It is true that most wars were started over religion, but keep in mind which religions those were and when. Shalom

My response was about Organized Religion not Spiritual Beliefs, such as have been around since the beginnings of Human Kind. Were the Moneychangers that Jesus chased out of the Temple not businessmen? All organized religions fall under the one Category, Scam! Spiritual beliefs do not start wars, but Organized Religion kills those with Spiritual Beliefs. Jesus did not demand Money for his Teaching. .

Enlightenment can come from our selfes we are a part of the universe we aren't seperate from it. I believe that babies are at a state of enlightenment but as they get older and there parents corupt them with some religion that teaches them that they need to look outside them selfes to find happiness or they need to believe in this or believe in that they loses it and well they don't even realize that they had a level of enlightenment. I just don't see how anyone religion can be right when there are way to many to really be able to tell this one is wrong and this is right. When really they both were created by man and they both have there problems. I think really everyone should make there own mind on what they believe. I haven't really ever thought that a god or anything like that could exist because every human has the power to destroy and create so really. Enlightenment doesn't just come from ourselfes though it comes from a mixture of personal enlightenment and well looking at the world around us and nature. The big bang is explained through M Theory which is basicly combines all of the string theories together and makes it so that they are now in one big theory. M theory states that what caused the big bang was two membranes in the 11th dimension colideing together that caused the big bang to happen and then it goes on from there with the creation of the elements and all that type of stuff.

I think that most of Islam is not radical, just as most of Christianity is not radical. Most of Christianity is not awaiting a "rapture," by the way. I also think that topics like this one are not helpful to the process of creating thoughtful interaction and understanding between believers of different faiths.

It may be if Christians keep speaking hatred of the religion of Islam and continue to wage wars on Arab countries. I think these kind of things draw Muslims to desperation and causes them to be more easily drawn into cult-like radical Islamic groups. I believe that both Christians and Muslims need to strive for peace with one another if we don't want to see radical Islam and terrorism spread! Hatred does not breed peace!
