I'm pretty sure I have an ingrown eyelash that is irritating my eyeball. I had a couple of them many years ago and had to see an eye doctor to have them plucked out. This one has been driving me nuts since last night! I thought I had something in my eye but couldn't get it out by rubbing it so I used Visine eye drops (saline). Nope, didn't help. So, I got out the ol' magnifying mirror and saw something right underneath my eyelash line... touching my eyeball. Oh, geez. It looks like a trip to the eye doctor is in order for me today! Have you ever had one of these? It's like non-stop irritation. It doesn't hurt but it can drive you crazy! If you've had them before, do you have any suggestions other than seeing an eye doctor?

no I don't think that has ever happened to me, I have an eyelash that has gone into my eye and that is quite irritating but not and ingrown eyelash that I know about.

Ingrown eyelashes can grow back into the eyelid or they can grow beneath the eyelid, into the eyeball. Either way, it's called an ingrown eyelash. So, you certainly had one! That's what I have now... it's growing down instead of up, touching my eyeball. It doesn't hurt at all, it's just so irritating! It feels like I could just rub my eye and get rid of it but, that's just not working. I gave it another day to see what would happen, hoping it would go away on it's own but it hasn't so far. It looks like I'll be seeing the eye doctor tomorrow for sure. I can't put up with this another day! I'll go nuts! Short trip, I know, but I'd kinda like to stay on THIS side of the sanity fence for awhile. LOL

Ooh I hate those things, it kills me to have one stuck to my eye and won't go away.I can't tell you how many times I had ingrown eyelashes, but I can tell you that I never seen a doctor for it. I think that the times I had ingrown eyelashes, I didn't even know what it was, I just know that my eye was extremely sore and irritated. I just put some visine eye drops in my eyes like you did. Did it go away? Yes of course, after it finished driving me insane.

Hahahahahaha! So, you're saying that, once I've been driven insane by this, it'll be better? Well, if THAT'S all there is... It'll be a mighty short trip! LOL I decided to put it off a day to see what happens. I've rested my eye quite often today and keep putting the eye drops in every few hours. We'll see. If it's like this tomorrow, I'm definitely going to see the eye doctor. I don't have the time to go crazy right now! I have Christmas to do! LOL

Well, I've been taking it easy today and resting my eyes a lot. When I first wake up it feels much better but doesn't take long before I feel it scratching my eyeball again. I decided to give it a day to see if it would feel better on it's own but, so far, it's not. If it's like this in the morning, I'll call the eye doctor. Sigh! The weird things that can happen to us, huh?

Oh that sounds painful ):I haven't had ingrown eyelashes but ive had ingrown hairs under my arm before and those where very painful so I cant imagine what an ingrown eyelash must feel like. I think it may just be best to go to the doctor you wouldn't want to do any permanent damage to yourself by accident.

Well, it actually doesn't hurt. It's just so irritating I'm ready to scream! I'm keeping it washed with the Visine saline solution and, so far, it's the same as it was last night. I've rested a lot today to avoid the constant blinking, therefore irritating it more. I decided to wait another day to see if this thing gets better on it's own. So far, nada! Guess I'll have to see the eye doctor. Sigh!

I suffer from them, you're lucky you only had to have them plucked out, I have a lot of them and I have to have plastic surgery ever 2 years on my eyes to fully remove them, I am only 15, and I have had this problem since I was born, but I was only able to start having surgery when I was 13. They don't really irritate me because I'm used to them. I donlt feel them anymore, but they were going to make me go blind at a later age in life unless I keep having surgery. I havem learnt to live with them luckly and I don't even know their there lol. The first time I went to the optition, I wowed by surgeons and Doctors becuase I had every single eyelash going into my eye, and I couldn't feel it at all. (Apparantly I am know in a medical Journal thing for university's all over the world woohoo lol). How you can feel it know I never can. I'm sorry it's irritating you, but just go to teh optition they'll pluck it out and maybe give you eye drops. Good Luck Laura xxx

My bro had a few of those. Actually, they can be dangerous and cause loss of vision if left long enough.

In grown eyelash? I have never heard of it, let alone have one. It must be really irritating! I thought all eyelashes grow on the outside of the eyelids. They grow on the inside too? How often do you have to go to the doctor to pluck them? You cannot do it yourself?

I've had ingrown eyelashes for as long as I can remember. My dad had to pluck them out every month or so. My dad & my younger sister also have this condition. It can really affect your vision as the eyelash makes your eye water, tire & get really sore. I've had them burned out which doesn't work. The only solution it to pluck them out & my husband has to do it for me now. xx
