Wet Pj's

Bet you thought I wet the bed! Nope, that didn't happen. Again this morning I was making coffee, turned on the water but had my sleeve under the faucet. Didn't take long to realize my sleeve was getting drenched. That was an early morning wake up call. Looking back, it was funny although this isn't the first time it's happened. Have you experienced a similar thing happening?

Hey carol! Every time I go to wash something at the sink I get an unwanted bath! I was washing out the cats dishes before and my shirt got soaked! Not just the sleeves, the whole shirt! And of course I had to change my shirt because it's kind of cold here to wear a wet shirt! Every time I go near the sink the same thing happens! You would think I would learn by now! Nope! The area around the sink is always wet and I'm always turning on the water to hard and getting drenched! I should wear some sort of waterproof gear when washing dishes so I wouldn't have to keep changing my clothes!

Maybe an apron would help. Or trim an old tablecloth and make it into an apron. You know, the kind that water will roll off..lol Thanks for responding.

My sleeves are long and often I get a phone call while trying to make things. Phone call finishes and the next thing I know, I have batter (cake, cookie, biscuit, etc. ) on my sleeve. When I do my cooking later on in the day, I roll up my sleeves first, but earlier, I tend to forget.

I know what you mean by doing these kinds of things early. I need coffee before I can function early in the morning. Thanks for responding.

Oh yes. when ever I'm in the kitchen now I roll up my sleeves but then again I sometimes splash water down the front of me. I do the grrr thing and finish dishes and go change.

Seems like it takes longer for a sleeve to dry. I've done this about 3 times lately. Thanks for responding.

Well I dont drink coffee but i got a wet wakeup once thanks to my cat. I had a glass of ice water on my nightstand that she decided shouldnt go to waste. Well in her effort to get the water she spilled it on me. What a shock at 330 in the morning.

On my days off I like to clean and do my thing here in my pj's.....so I shower after I am done before I leave the house or whatever....well the next morning since I took a late shower I don't alway do it.....but I have to wash my hair as it sticks up all over....sometimes when I am not careful I get the neck and sleeves wet....and I know I will....I push up the sleeves and tuck under the collar but in the process they manage to get free....so yes. I do get wet pj's ocassionally! LOL

The one that bothers me the most is wet pant cuffs. It never fails that when my grandkids take a bath they get the whole bathroom wet. When I get up in the night I don't turn on the lights so I don't notice the water in the floor. I never realize my cuffs are wet until I get back into bed. Then I have to get back up and change.

there are nothing worse than wet sleeves of anything! i wash my hair in the morning sometimes by leaning over the bathtub and i always end up getting wet sleeves, then you get stuck with wet sleeves all day til they dry and your whole body feels cold!

That is one reason I don't like to wear long sleeves. I can pull them up and as soon as I put my hands under the water my sleeve will almost always slip down and get soaked.

I did this the other day too when wearing a sweatshirt. It stayed wet for a long time because I didn't have enough sense to change it. Thanks for responding.

It happens to me at least once a week. And it always happens when its cold out and the cold water comes rushing out. Then I get the rest of me wet trying to get out of the wet clothes. I'm just naturally clumsy when it comes to these things!

Hi carolbee, That is one of the things that is easily done as I have done that with my dressing gown sleeves and had all that water going down my sleeves and didn't even notice till I put my arm down, hehe. Tamara

Well it happened to me but not with PJs I was actually washing my hands with my jacket on but all of a sudden my mind went blank and I just came back to my senses when a part of my sleeves were already wt. It happens too at times when I'm pouring water into a glass. Sometimes it spills. Maybe I just love the sound of flowing water that's why my mind is so relaxed with it.

I don't pay attention enough in the morning. I understand about relaxing by the flow of water. Thanks for responding.

It never fails. I go to the bathroom, wash my hands and come out of the bathroom looking like I didn't make it in time. It normally happens in public restrooms. The water pressure is higher and the sink is at the right hight so that while I'm washing my hands the water splashes onto me from the belt down. less often but just as predictable. I buy a coffee on the way to go someplace and I'm wearing a white or light colored shirt. Before I get 5 miles I will have a fast break or pot hole while the cup is at my mouth and my nice shirt gets a long brown stain when it's to late for me to go back and change.

And coffee tends to smell all day when on the clothing. Maybe you can keep an extra shirt in your car. It beats going back home if you are far away. Thanks for responding.

It was a nearly daily routine when I drove tractor trailers for a living. I always had extra cloths but I tended to get them as well. I just learned to use the same sweatshirt in the morning until they coffee level was down a bit. By then the heater caught up and I could take it off anyway.
