Which linux version do you feel the best? You would all probably knowing the big list. I would also like to know what are the formats being supported by all linux distributions? Finally Do you use Fedora 10, Ubuntu or Suse or Red Hat or any other version Or Do you feel comfortable with windows?

If you a new to linux I recomended Ubuntu. Most of linux distro support format ext2/ext3,XFS,JFS and ReiserFS. I have tried a lot of linux distro like Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat, LinuxMint, Mandriva, Slackware and ArchLinux. But now I'm using ArchLinux. I feel comfortable using windows, linux or even mac os (I don't have a mac but I install mac on my pc aka hackintosh). I set a dual boot system so that I can choose which os I want to boot during start up. I guess linux disadvantage is lack of games.

Ubuntu is the very best.... Coz the easy to use, speed, security, supports and updates is the best.... I'm using it for a year now as in 100%.... I installed windows (for ms office, adobe photoshop) but it is installed within Ubuntu as I am like using two computers at the same time with different OS.... For a year now I have not yet reformatted the computer not just like in Windows I am reformatting frequently in a year...

Yes, Ubuntu support variety of softwares (over 17,000 software packages) and the installation is quite easy. But you have to read basic linux file system before you proceed. Because linux file system is different from windows file system. In linux you have to create at least two partition, one for root and one for swap. good luck.

I generally used to REd hat 9.0. coz it has friendly environment. But i format computer months ago and tried to install again but graphics interface was not suppoted. so its mylock. Now i am using windows OS. If you know what problem it was? After that version there are so many upgrade/updated ver have come. I also installed fedora core 6.0 devloper ver. But red hat 9.0 is still my best one. I heard Ubuntu is also good one. I don't know where i find that one on sites for free download. Finally as i have to say,i am single user computer with windows OS. Now It is my friendly os to me.
