Do you remember John Wayne?

How many of you can remember watching John Wayne in the movies? Did you know that he starred in 170 movies? A number of them he was just an extra when he was first starting out, I guess.
I remember watching John Wayne, and I remember when he died. He was one of and probably still is one of my favorite actors ever.
What about you? Do you remember anyone else who was ever so popular?

I most definitely remember John Wayne. My favorite movies of his are Big Jake, and True Grit, which is my most favorite movie of all time. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe it was his role in True Grit that won him an Oscar or an Academy Award. Although he was superb in all his roles of his movies, I strong believe that his role in True Grit was not only the most inspiring, but deeply moving.

I loved him and still watch his movies. My girlfriend got to meet him in person in downtown Houston. She said he was a sweet warm and wonderful man. I see alot of his movies on amc and turner and we watch every one we can every single time. Theres noone like the duke!@kykidd (6812)

Yeah, the Duke was awesome, no one can still compare! I saw his footprints when I was in Hollywood and was surprised how small they were. I should look up his bio and see how big of a man he was.

Hi! I'm halfway around the globe, and I remember John Wayne with a lot of fondness, like all his movies were part of my childhood. He had quite a following in the little hometown where I grew up, and that included my family, he was everybody's favorite. We trooped to the moviehouse for his films. It's been a long time since I've watched any of his old movies though...

Once in a blue moon I'll catch one of his movies on the AMC channel on television. I really like the westerns. I don't think I could ever get tired of watching them. Maybe after all of the holidays are over, they'll have a John Wayne Marathon. I'd like that.
