What are some of your worst nightmares? Mine is that my girlfriend's fragile body is in my arms and I can feel how lifeless she is. Everytime I have this dream it's rather emotional and whenever I write about it I know that my writings are going to be good.

Yes keep some forms or means of expressing what you feel and what you are experiencing at all times. Just don't stop creating. If we stop creating then we fall off the map.

Could you keep a pencil and paper on your night stand? I find this helps me to remember my dreams. Often it is in those first few seconds before we're fully conscious that our dreams are still in the front of her memory. If you can write down anything, even fragments, over time you may find yourself remembering more. Just a suggestion. Happy dreaming!

Worst nightmare must be waking up in the house on my own with the children and the house being on fire, this is worse than finding a crook in the house

You reminded me, fire is also one of my worst fears. I am afraid of fire more than any other type a physical injury. This is probably why it comes up frequently in my dreams as well. There are times that these dreams are so emotionally intense that I feel physically drained when I wake up. Fairly shortly I can usually shake off the feelings but in the moment they're definitely very intense.

I have had dreams of falling and dreams of ghosts whom I did not know. I have bad dreams every once in awhile and sometimes I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. I WOULD RATHER HAVE DREAMS WHERE I AM LAUGHING AND HAPPY BUT WE DONT GET A CHOICE ABOUT IT. Merry Christmas to you!

Thanks for your response. I was pretty interested to see what most people's worst nightmares was because everyone's mind is so powerful and a unique creator in itself. I myself don't mind bad dreams because I like dreams and nightmares, because we have to realize that there is a compare and contrast between the two.

My worst nightmares involve me being disfigured some kind of way. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those pretty boy types that spends a lot of time in front of the mirror. I don't feel that I'm that attractive and I'd hate for anything to happen to make me look any worse than I already do.

A nightmare is a nightmare regardless of vanity or thoughts on oneself. I think that this nightmare is pretty interesting actually because I can't recall having a nightmare like that before. I'm interested by all nightmares and dreams because they are from the deepest realms of someone's imagination.

Well, there's a myth in our culture about dreaming of somebody dying, its not actually scary and it's actually nice. In our culture, that person you dream t of dying will actually prolong her life just because of your dream. So I hope this will ease you a little bit. I don't know what my worst nightmare was, sometimes I fall back to sleep and forget about the nightmare the only thing I remember is that I FELT SO EXHAUSTED. I often dream about snakes thou, I don't know what it means but I often dream about holding the snake so tight in its neck because I'm afraid that if it'll get loose that it might strike and bite me.

Thank you for your response I don't find nightmares personally unpleasant I find them powerful and I find a lot of inspiration in them. It's interesting to read that these kind of nightmares will prolong the life of the individuals and I don't know why I wouldn't agree with that. I've also had some snake dreams, and they can be pretty cool. Keep on dreamin

As a child, I had the same persistent nightmare almost every night. I do not know, what age I was when I first started having this particular dream, but I remember having it frequently for at least 5 to 7 years thereafter. Now, at 30 years old I do not have the dream as frequently anymore, but it does pop up again from time to time usually, when I'm under stress. My nightmares always have some of the same basic elements. I am always under physical attack in some way. Someone is always trying to chase me, break into my home, hurt my family, hurt me, ETC. This person is usually a stranger, not someone I know and trust. As a child, I was never able to get to a "safe" place in the dream, I always woke up before the dream finished. Of course, hindsight is always 20/20 and looking back, I do not need to be an expert in dream interpretation nor do I need a degree in psychology to see that there were stressors in my life that I could not control, and I did not feel safe. Thus, the stranger chasing and wanting to kill me and my trying to escape. When it comes to our dreams and or our nightmares, I become very frustrated when I read things on dream interpretation. In my opinion, symbolism and therefore dream interpretation is different for every person. Our likes and dislikes, our fears and our opinions all come from our previous experiences and as such the meaning of flying, losing your teeth, or a pig will all have different meanings for different people. Remember, everyone dreams. We may not always remember our dreams, but we do dream every night because it is our brain's way of processing information as we sleep. If you would like help to remember your dreams or rid yourself of persistent nightmare, try keeping a pad and pencil beside your bed to write down your dreams as soon as you wake up. Doing this will help you to remember them. Also, if you're interested in getting rid of or changing dreams that bother you psychologists and experts suggest planning a new action or reaction to something that you know is going to happen in the dream and then trying to act that out before you wake up. This changes the end of your dream and you may stop having it. I realized that I've got off topic at bit and veered off on a tangent but I love the topic of dreams and or nightmares and find our minds and extremely interesting thing to explore. I love to philosophize and play the devil's advocate. I have not gone into a lot of detail about my own worst nightmare because those details will only be vivid in my mind. But I ask you what are your dreams or your nightmares and what are they trying to tell you? Just something for you to think about.
