The Hardest Logic Puzzle Ever

Does anybody here knows which is the hardest logical puzzle ever? I was paying a game with my cousin based on puzzles. He asked a few tough ones and now I want to answer him strongly.

I have one here: A merchant, sitting on a donkey, passes through the desert of 1000 km long to sell 3000 carrots. Known that the donkey can carry 1000 carrots at most for one time,and it will eat 1 carrot when it walked 1 km. ASK: How many carrots does the merchant sell at most? Happy mylotting!

Zero - the desert is 1000 km long, the donkey can only carry 1000 carrots, and eats one carrot after 1 km, - the poor merchant is out of carrots by the time he reaches his destination.

There must be some catch in the puzzle else it is too simple.

I have heard about it once but can't remember it right now. It was something like three guards are standing in front of three doors and you have to ask some questions...
