I signed up to gomez peer and I left the computer on since last night. My status is of course pending but my processing time is 0 and I don't know wht that means. Also I thought my rank will decrease with time but I noticed that sometimes it goes down some other times up. Are you having the same experience? My rank is 190 336 right now. What is your rank and processing time?

Unfortunately mate, I'd tried it a long time ago but it didn't work for me, I had spent 2 months but I got only some cents, I don't know how do they count the processing time but I think it's unfair at least for my case and I did remove it and never get back to it. Good luck for you and let us be updated of what's going on there!

Thank you passwordrain. I don't know either how they calculate it. But I guess it depends on a lot of factors and some people make some free cash from it. We will see, thanks.

I presume you have just signed up, and if you do not mind I would like to share what I know about it. Processing time is the time spent by your computer after receiving work request from Gomez Peer. Each processing cycle is short (at least in my case) and the processing time actually carried out by your computer may not be 0. Log in to your account to see the actual processing time done. New accounts do not automatically get work request. It depends on Gomez's clients, system configuration, type of Internet connection and the number of Peers in your area. As with any type of contract job, work request vary from time to time. Gomez Peer has several ranking systems including actual money earned and time spent online. Ranking shown on the small window is based on online time. There are Peers who use more than one computer and when they are online they can beat us. - rosdimy -

Thank you for this answer rosdimy. I have a better idea now of what is going on. I just checked on the site and my rank actually got to 22702. That's quite a jumo in a day and I am using only one computer. Do you think if I add one or two computers I will have more chances to get approved? Also, I read that if you don't give them the exact information about your connection type you might have a problem getting activated. I have a broadband wireless network connection. And on the icon on the bottom of the desktop it sows my speed 54.0 Mbps. But in the box preferences it doesn't give the option to chose 54.0, so I chose 56.0 as it is the closest to what I have. The other choices are DSL, cable modem, ISDSL, etc. On the website my rank is 22702 (money earned $0.10) On the gomez box my rank (online time) 101745 It sure is a little difficult to understand the system. My processing time is still 0 but my potential earnings are $0.10. And I read that you get paid for the processing time. Go figure... If you have some answers I would appreciate it very much. Thanks again rosdimy.

Thank you so much for all your help and your time. I did change my internet conection setting in preferences to DSL and now I already have 13 minutes of processing time. If I left it the way I set it before I will always have 0 for time processing. Thank you.

Gomez Peer is offering a bonus of 10cents for every 20 hours we are online. You left your PC switched on overnight and that is where the money came from. As a 'Pending' member any amount accrued will be reset to zero at the end of the month. If before the end of the month your status changes to 'Active' then the money is yours. 56Mpbs is for dial up. 54Mps is the wireless capability. Yours is broadband so change the speed to DSL. Yes, if you have more computers running Gomez Peer under your account it will take less than 20 hours to reach the bonus mark ( 20 hours divided by the number of computers). You also stand a better chance of becoming an 'active' peer. - rosdimy -

Sorry akangirl. True it is frustrating to wait. But I will follow your advice. Why don't you install it again and wait. It doesn't interfere with your work on the computer at all.
