AH Snap! My Butt Numb

United States

I've been sitting in this chair 4 hours straight and now I have a numb butt to deal with. I must of been lost in my internet world because I had NO clue I was sitting here 4 hours non-STOP. When I stood up from my chair I noticed I didn't feel anything back there, so I said "WHAT THE CRAP! WHERE IS MY BUTT!" It was pretty scary for me because I was half sleep anyway and I was falling asleep sitting up a few minutes before that. Mylotters are your butts numb from sitting so long? and How long have you been sitting there?

Yes my dear friend and I have been on for over 4 hours as well, and like you my butt is numb and after this I'm going to bed. As I do have to work on Monday. I was on mylot and playing games. I have not even done the dishes. Bad really bad today. But I'm sure I will get over it. Your friend onlydia

Hey miracle! Nope! I don't have much of a butt to begin with but?, my butt never gets a chance to get numb because I'm always up and down and up and down because I can't sit still! Even though I am trying to mylot I still manage to keep getting up to do something or other. If it's not a bathroom break it's a munchy break or a "need to find something or other break"! So, I'm hyper and need to jump around all the time! It's 3:15am and I'm still here on mylot, why I don't know! I was surfing for a bit! I was looking around for some ideas for Christmas gifts and found out that the phones that I want to get are on sale at the best price that I've seen yet! Now I just have to figure out how the hell I'm going to get the money before Tuesday when I will be in that area so I can get them! How did I get into this from talking about your butt? How I can digress! Hope you got that butt problem taken care of! I need to get off my butt and get it into the bed! Nitey nite!

yeah it happens, especially after long gaming sessions. A numb butt is one thing all computer users have to deal with at times! Try using a better chair, one which offers some padding. Also try getting up every 45 minutes or so, stretch a bit and then sit back down. It reduces the risk of you facing health problems.

I know it's harmless, but it just felt so weird.

Sometimes I can't even get up, I have to wake up my body before it will stand. Funny how our minds can get so involved that our bodies go unconscious.

3 hours. That's so funny! I realized it was noon and my hubby would be home for lunch any minute, I yanked out the vacuum, washed the dishes, grabbed the laundry out of the dryer and put it on the sofa and folded a few, that way when he walked in the door, it looked like I had been cleaning all morning. HOWEVER, when I stood up to go do this, I had been sitting on my leg leg and it was asleep! OH AND I CLOSED THE INTERNET RIGHT AS HE WALKED IN THE DOOR! But now I am back...sitting on my leg again!

That is so funny. I'm surprised you didn't splash water in your face to look like you were sweating.

I could never sit for 4 hours non-stop. First of all, I couldn't go four hours with having to pee. I have done similar things. I have this habit of tucking one leg up under me when I sit in a chair at my desktop computer. I can't tell you how many times the phone has rang or something, I jump up to go get it without realizing my foot has fallen asleep and fall flat on my face. I'm happy to say my nose is no longer flat since getting my laptop over a year ago.

With all my kids floating around I usually don't get to sit much more than 15min or so if I'm lucky w/o being pestered for something. Sometimes my hands or arms start to fall asleep as I do have a bit of pregnancy carpel tunnel I have yet to shake from my 2nd child. So I always try to move every so often.

You know, I get that very same feeling! I sometimes sit for hours in front of my pc and I sit on one of these special chairs that are supposed to support your back. Anyway, my behind also goes very numb and I have to get up, walk around and perhaps give it a little massage! I might grab a cuppa but then it's back to the old computer. I'm sure it's nothing serious, there's just a lack of blood getting to that area when we sit down for so long! How's your butt now!!! Andrew

I have that problem too. I usually get up and move around after half an hour or so. I get really stiff sitting in the same place.

Of course that's normal, just imagine sitting up for four hours(non-stop). Just don't be afraid cause your system just counter-acting what have you done abnormally. I had also an experienced same as what you had but I think just for hour an a half. What I did was turn off my PC, stood-up and went outside for a walk and backed after an hour. The longest I had sitting in front of my PC were just one to two hours because my eyes can't stand more than that long...besides I feel already bored working in front of my PC more than two hours....so, just relax take it easy,,anything that is more than normal is already abnormal..happy myloting..

My butt doesn't get numb but my legs and feet will fall asleep if I've been sitting here a long time, and it takes awhile to get walking again...lol. You know its pretty bad when your body parts start losing feeling....haha.

My butt gets numb too when I sit for very long periods of time without moving around any at all.
