I miss LA weather (among other things)

Went down to beautiful Los Angeles, California for the weekend. When I left Sacramento it was foggy and 42 degrees F and I was freezing my little toesies off. In the plane, I could see a solid fog bank all the way down the central valley (almost 300 miles). When I got to LA it was crystal clear and in the high 60's so I took off my jacket and rolled up my sleeves! Dang I miss LA weather! I don't miss the traffic and the crime and the graffiti and the smog and the high prices though! I went to Valhalla (memorial park) and found the graves of my great-great-Aunt and Uncle. Then I went to the Griffith Observatory (best views in all of LA) and hiked up to the top of Mt. Hollywood. The next day I went to Descanso Gardens where the roses are still in bloom and the camellias are just starting to bloom. Then I had to come home and bundle up again! Anyway, that's why I didn't respond to all y'all's discussions until just now. Did you guys do anything interesting for the weekend?

I had a long weekend since Monday was a public holiday in Malta. I have visited my inlaws and went for long walks in the country side. I tried to relax and watched movies that I did not have time to watch during weekdays. © ronaldinu 2008

A long weekend would have been nice but my short weekend was nice enough!

What a lovely weekend. I love visiting and the huge variety of things to do there, I haven't been since 2002! I could use a road trip to the coast! I REALLY miss the beef bowl restaurants, I went to Santa Monica Collage and always ate lunch there EVERYDAY. I lived in Huntington Beach for many years and one time it was 48 degrees and was SNOWING, I think in '92. I couldn't believe it! But, yes, I had an MG MIdget when I was there and loved riding with the top down in the summer. Nice mild weather! the funny thing is, I always thought I was a blonde until I moved to Tahoe and my hair got way darker, no more convertibles and year round sunshine!

I remember it snowed in the early 90's. I was living in Van Nuys and there wasn't any snow there but by the time I got to Woodland Hills there was a bit. I guess it snowed more in the north valley, my brother got some pictures, I didn't!

Well, lately I have not been able to be online as much due to getting ready for Christmas and going to Christmas parties, etc. Actually this may be one of the few times I will have much time to post for the next 3-4 days as well. But it is all worth it as well.

Well done Dawn. I am glad you decided on a trip to LA. I know you miss it sometimes so I guess you must be happy right now after your weekend there. It really does seem a very exciting place and I love to see it on the television. Maybe I will get a trip there myself one day. Roses in bloom at this time of year and beautiful camelias just starting to come out. That just sounds like heaven right now as all I can see is snow or ice. I am really glad you went Dawn. I did not miss you though one bit. I am only joking. I had my grandson for the weekend and I could not get on MyLot at all as he never stopped crying. He has bronchilolitis or whatever it is and he done my head in. I am glad he is away home again. Well I am glad you are back sharing all your info with us. I am also glad you got warm for a few says also.

LA can get old when you are crawling in 5 mph traffic on the freeway when you have 50 miles to drive, but there are definitely some nice places there. Yep I miss it! Glad I got to run away for 2 days!

I had to laugh when I read your post. I live in the L.A. area and I often long for cooler weather and some seasonal changes. DH and I have sweaters and heavy coats and we never get a chance to wear them because it's always summer here. I guess that we always want what we don't have, huh? DH and I can't wait until we can sell our house here and move up to Washington state. While we're still living here, we spend almost every weekend with friends in Laguna Beach.

As for cooler weather, the summers are just as hot up here as they are down there. But the winters are cooler than I like. I can do just fine without seasonal change!!!

I'm so glad to see that you were able to make a trip back home! You were rather homesick awhile back if I remember correctly. Seems like you really had a great time! My weekend was one busy day and one laid back day. Saturday was about 5 different events for the family and Sunday was stay at home and chill out!

It's funny you say that because I live in LA and I freeze my but off! I was born and raised in Hawaii so the California weather is still very cold for me. I'm in Hawaii right now and the weather is beautiful. During the day, it's in the 80's and in the evening it's in the 70's. I really miss it here, but I don't regret moving to LA at all. Hope you stay warm and have a great holiday season.

Ah, Hawaii is perfect pretty much all the time. But believe me, Southern California winters are noticeably warmer than Northern California winters!
