What do you hate about your country?

Dont get me wrong, I am a patriot and I know most people love their countries, but there are aspects that are irritating/ bad which we wish we could change or not have. Here in India for example, there is this very irritating tendency that people have of not letting others come up, a middle class person will pull down someone striving to climb the ladder with sincere hard work and efffort to reach a high class level. Or a co-worker will influence the promotion of a colleague, or make sure he/she fails in her new role, instead of supporting and helping them. Its despicable, but rampant. I wish it could go away! What are people in your country bad at? Bold enough to state it here?

What I hate about here in the United States is the attitude of a lot of our people. So many of us are materialistic and stuck up. They spend a lot of money and waste a lot of our resources just because they can afford to. All they care about is status. Anyone who is strange or different is looked down on. But the strange are the ones who invent all of their new gadgets.

Mm.. heard that. I also hear of the credit culture - Its sad! It has started happening here in India too! I can easily wait to do/ own something till I can afford it, its awful the way people get bankrupt in such a hurry to get things!
