Before all of this stuff with the economy I hated my job and dreaded going everyday and now I see all these people out of work and I have to say I don't hate my job as much. In fact I am very thankful that I still have such a great paying job and I hope that it stays that way.

My husband hates his job and the reason being is bacause they keep on cutting his hours back, but yet dump things on him. The other day his immediate supervisor aksed him to work six hours and he would only get paid for three hours. He is paid hourly and my husband told him that it is illegal to ask me to lie about my hours. I will be willing to work a full six hours if you pay for me for all six. If not I will only work my three hours and that is it. I hope the economy turns around soon so we can both get better jobs. I have a teaching degree, but there are no jobs in teaching. I am going back for my Masters degree.

Many years ago, I was not very found of my job. I continued to work hard and work extra hours (with no OT) and tried my best to satisfy both my clients and my bosses. Over the years, I was rewarded with promotions and salary increases. During the latest round of layoffs, I was lucky to keep my job although there is a salary freeze in place and no promotions. I do now like my job and in particular I like the people that I work with. I have seen some very dedicated people laid off and am thankful that I still have my job.

i hate my job even with the economy we have right now, i still hate my job even if i see a lot of people getting terminated in other companies. so i applied to a lot of job openings. these are the longest and most frustrating months of my life. thankfully i got accepted in another job even with the economy we have right now, some companies here are still hiring people. my new company offered a retirement package to their employees and some took it, so now they are hiring new people to fill those positions. i still believe that we should continue looking for an opportunity, a better job and company. i prefer to be happy than be frustrated at work all the time. i do not want to drag myself to work everyday. to put up with arrogant bosses who think that we will just take all their crap just because we have an economic crisis

My Hubby most definatly is, though there are rumors that his company will be cutting 10% of the jobs. I hate rumors as you don't know who they are cutting KWIM? Are they cutting folks who make good money? People who have obsolete positions? People who are not as efficeint as others? People who have been with the company a short time? So many of these questions float thru my head. I picked up a holiday job & I'm hoping to stay on but they are jerk'n around with wanting to keep me on or not. Two thumbs up but then question something silly as others have said you can't push credit cards during these economic times & some people get really annoyed. I think just an excuse not to hire me so I will start looking online and of course posting like a madwoman on MyLot ;)

You know this subject actually came up where I work this morning. I went in and it seemed like everyone around me had something to gripe or complain about. I got really frustrated with everyone and said, "You know what guys, you should just be thankful that you still have a job to go to". They all calmed down a bit, atleast around me. I'm just a firm believer that we should be thankful for what we have and not take it for granted because we don't know what tomorrow holds. I might have my job today, but tomorrow I could be standing at the unemployment line. I really hope the economy gets better soon, but I think it's going to get a whole lot worse before it can get better. Happy MyLotting friend!

Luckily I love my job but yes a lot of people take it for granted. There's a rant section in our local news paper and this guy wrote in saying "just when it couldnt get any worse, my insurance premium went up. This economy is killing me" Um, dude? Youre lucky to have insurance at all, and a job. While my job kind of takes advantage of the poor economy i know there are millions out there who would be happy to take all the crap just to be employed. I work in a corporate environment and they have been laying off tons of people, while piling their work on us that are left w/ the attitude "well you cant afford to get fired so shut up and do it without a raise or leave". Which kind of angers me because i know the management is still getting their huge salaries and bonus' w/o taking on extra, but thats life i guess.
