Our company is organizing a Christmas get-together. I have already signed up and I thought it would be nice to get to talk to a few colleagues and all that. However some of the colleagues are reluctant to join and they keep asking the other staff if they could be omitted from the list. But since the boss is there, I am sure some of those reluctant people would end up turning up. What about you? Is there any Christmas gathering you are being forced to go to?

hello wondericequeen! In highschool, we are really forced to attend in the Christmas party whether we like it or not because our grades will be affected. But when I reached college, I never attended any Xmas party because we are not forced to do so. I don't usually attend parties because I find it boring.

Not even one... no christmas party where i am working... nor any talks with my friends... so if something will come up... i will sure be glad to attend... it has been like two years since i attended a christmas party... but then... i am still happy because i still have family gatherings to attend... but they are so different for ones organized by co workers and friends...

That is exactly the way I would put it, as I have in the past been ORDERED to attend some of those awful things, and trust me on this, no job I ever had gave the staff a clothing allowance! Ack, I loathed and detested those phony things. No, not any more. I don't go anywhere unless I want to!

Hi there wondericequeen! Yes, we are being required to attend to some of these Christmas gatherings and related activities. To some extent, it can really get irritating considering that they are scheduled on weekends. In fact, two of these activities are scheduled a day after our last class before the Christmas break. Well, what do they expect us to do? Most of us already have plans. Encouraging us to attend is fine but to require us to attend activities on days that we are supposed to be on break is a different story!
