Question Regarding Article Writing - I Think I took Took Too Much Time...

It took nearly three hours to write an article! And I think it is not at all a good speed. Actually, inspired by loads of discussions recently taking place here at myLot on article writing - I decided to write weekly one article. I, therefore, initiated the process today - and it took me nearly three hours to prepare the draft article (Article Word Count: 1230). First of all, I was to gather information from different websites, then to organize them under different points (sub-headings), after that I spent fair amount of time in choosing a catchy title, and finally when the draft was prepared - I discovered few typos and punctuation mistakes. So, it took me another half an hour to finish it completely. Is it normal? Is there anyway to improve the speed? I think I took too much time.

I think it depends. If you were doing the article to be paid by someone else, then yes, it probably did take you too long, as you're unlikely to get paid adequately for time spent. If, however, it's for your own use, then it may be time well spent.

Your assumption is correct - it is for my own use! Still I think it took me too long.

As you write more, you can get faster. Less errors on a first draft, quicker looking stuff up. Practice makes perfect. It can be worth signing up to some sites to get free Private Label articles you can use as sources for your own articles.

It's a long article so the time is just enough. It is better to be sure before posting than being in a hurry and then regretting later when it has been posted. I like your style, very organized. That's how I do it too, but since my articles are usually 400 words. I spent half of your time. Keep writing, and good luck.

It is a good idea to be prepared and to take enough time to get things ready when writing an article. I have written some articles and it seems to me the need to get it done and finished becomes great and sometimes the finished product does not shine as well as I would like. Cheers!!

That's something I have also observed about the quality of my finished product!
