How Old Were You When You Became An Aunt Or Uncle?

I'm always curious about how old some people are when they become an aunt or an uncle. I guess it's because I was only 3 years old when I became an aunt, so for most of my life I've been called "Aunt Dawn Dawn". I'm sure some people probably thought it sounded funny saying that to a 3 year old, but that is what all my nieces and nephews call me. I am 30 now and I have 6 nieces, 4 nephews, 6 great nieces, and 2 great nephews. Whew, that's a lot of kids running around and that's not even counting my step nieces and nephews. How about you, how old were you when you became and aunt or uncle?

I am an only child so marriage was the only way I was going to become an Aunt. I became an Aunt officially in 1999 when I married my hubby. I have 2 nieces and 1 nephew. Having said that, I am Auntie to my best friend's boys - godmother to 1 of them. So I have been called Auntie since 1996.

I was 20 when my first niece was born. My youngest sister was 3 at the time, so she has been an aunt for most of her 31 years. She would talk about her nieces and nephews when she was in grade school and teachers and other adults would think she was just making stuff up, and how could she know what nieces and nephews were at 6? She is so much younger than the rest of our siblings that she didn't feel like one of the big kids, but she was the aunt, so she felt like she had to be the big kid around our kids..........cuz she was the aunt. I was 21 years when i became aunt of my little niece , I still remember the day when she was born i was really excited for her arrival but witnessed a very touchy moment of my life that was when my twin sister got the the news of my niece' birth she could not but end up crying in happiness

This happens quite a lot. i was 18 years old but my Brother was five. My cousin is older than her aunty also.
My friend next dor has just had a lttle boy and her older daughter already has a one year old son so he is also older than his uncle.
I think all these Moms are just a lot younger these days and more healthier.

I was 10 years old when I was being auntie, And I hope my nephew don't make me grandaunt in this my young age, I'm just in 29, hu hu hu and I don't have own child, I kick his ash if he did it to me... lol, It so sad to know that our younger love one, does not know how hard life are....

I was 23 when i have my first nephew. My edest brother married at the age of 29. I have 5 siblings and i am now 43. I have 3 nephews and 2 nieces one of them is adopted. We married late that's why i don't have many as you. Have a nice day. Have fun with your families.

Hi singlemommy I guest I was 19 when my baby sister had her baby. She was 15 at the time. My nephew is 17 now. I have 2 more nephews and 1 niece. I have a cousin that have nieces and nephews older then him. So your situation is not odd to me.

i became a uncle when i was 20.so feel very happy.because my sister got married and have a good husband.and the chidren is very handsome.i feel very happy.because all my life something maybe i can'tget it.so if my families had their own family,i will be happy.and became a real uncle in my 20 years old,i am a lucky man.because after my 20,i can take care of myself and give my niece money to buy chocolate.

Would you believe that when I was become an auntie I was at 0 age? My two nephew and i niece have the same age with me. Because we are big in the family we are 13 bro and sis and I am the youngest so what did you expect to a big family like that! LOL
Well I love that you know they are my playmates when we grow up and at the same time they are my childhood friends. We are all grew in the same town and we live as neighbors how sweet until we finally became adults and have different lives.

19...I was 19 when my sister had her first daughter, but I'm from Hawaii and here your cousins children will call you Aunty so I've been called that for a while. Gee, I can't remember the first time I was called that??

I became an uncle at the age of 16... right nw im 21.. so since 5 years m an unce...sounds big...lol
