Hi elshaddai, there is no short distance train here for to move from place to place. The new monorail train for short travel will be launched on two year-time. I think it must be quite convenient and economic as well to go work and home by riding on the train daily.
I usually go to work and home driving my own auto. It takes me around 15 minutes drive to reach my destination. I find it’s quite convenient to drive to work for I could dump all the stuffs I need like the bottle of water, shoes, files, umbrella and etc a night before going to work.
I don’t have to worry much about whether it's a rainy or sunny day. Here, in my place heavy rain would be happened at anytime. You know to carry a laptop along is really a burden especially for a lady in a rainy day, so it’s nice just to put it in the auto.
posting and Merry Christmas!

I the US, there are trains mainly in the really large cities. The same is true of buses and taxis. The average American drives a car to work. Most married families have 2 cars. We actually only have one (this was a decision we made so that I could afford to stay home with our children). You could say that I am the family taxi service. I bring my husband to work in the morning and the kids to school. Later I pick them all up again. Other times they will walk home (we live very close to work and school) But I love to drive and I believe that my motion sickness would give me trouble if I had to ride on a train.
