Can you remember the first thing you started collecting as a child? The first thing you ever collected? I think my was cuddley toys, they used to sit on my bed in a row, they reached from the top of the bed to the bottom, used to take me ages every morning to put them back on the bed, had a huge basket full as well! Well what did you collect?

I was going to say penpals because when I was younger, I had them. But to be honest, I loved collecting comic books and magazines seriously as a child. Next to records. I loved that because back then in the 70s, they didn't cost much and you'd get a nice collection and go from there. I really enjoyed my collection and wish I have it now. It would be worth something now.

I collect cards when I was a kid and the free toys you could get in chocolate drinks like Ovaltine and Milo. There are many free toys when I was a kid and it became my collectibles. The cards that I used to collect is small cards with the picture of super heroes like Shaider and Bioman. In my country it was called "teks". When I'm in grade shool I collect stamps. Now I do collect books.

The first thing that I ever started collecting as a child was novelty erasures. I had absolutely hundreds of the things in all shapes and sizes and with different smells. I kept them all in a carrier bag because I had no where else to put them, I do not know what happened to them though they just disappeared over the years, although they did not keep very well and were pretty dirty over the years!

I can't remember really if it was the first, but I remember collecting sticker name labels when I was in elementary. I had a lot of my own and I would trade them with just about anyone. Funny thing is, more than half of my collection were sticker labels I had made for myself. I was so crazy having them made that trading them with other people only became second priority. I still have them to this day, and really, I don't know what to do with all those leftover sticker labels with my name.

The first thing that i started collecting as a child was stamps. In fact in school wen I did well in a subject, our class teacher used to give me some stamps. She was a British lady and used to get a lot of letters from England. She had plenty of stamps and getting some stamps from her aroused my curiosity and i started collecting and then exchanging stamps with my friends. I soon had a good collection of stamps.

As far as I can remember, the first thing that I really started collecting were stamps. I had a thing for stamps before and I would ask my dad to help me look for more stamps. My half-sister from the States would send me sets as well since she liked that hobby as well. I still have those up to this day. I started collecting stamps when I was five. Ironically, I didn't really go for bears or dolls. I found the designs on the stamps more interesting than other things.

I dont really remember "collecting" anything but I did love to read and to get rid of books even back then. I did collect unicorns and then decided I didnt really want to collect them anymore. Then it moved to frogs and I collected those for about 5 years and yep now Im tired of them. However my love of books is still here and so is the collection!

ROCKS! I collected rocks, that is the earliest thing I remember collecting. I recall actually JUST talking about this with my roommate, and that I guess I was a very young "Ross Gellar", Ross from "Friends", who was a paleontologist. Dinosaur man, and rocks.

The first thing that I started to collect as a child was Shel Silverstien books. I still look for them whenever I go to a book store. I also still have all of them that I ever got.

The very first thing i started collected was phone cards.. lol =D It all started when i first got my wallet, and my mom put given me a phone card to call just in case i got lost or i cant be home for whatever reasons.. hehe ^_^ When i see the designs on the phone cards, i find them so nice, and thus i keep collecting them whenever the value in it has finished.. THere was a time whereby i dun even use them at all.. lol =D However, as my interested wears off, i just threw them all away.. lol

I don't think I have ever collected anything in quite that way. I had a record collection and a book collection. I am not sure which one came first, I think they grew together. I think it might be my record collection that came first though as my mum started buying me records early on. The book collection is one I started.

I used to collect glasses - the kind you used to be able to buy at visitor's centers across the US. If someone was traveling to a state I didn't have, I'd ask them if they could get me one. That's the first thing I can remember actively collecting. I used to also give my parents salt and pepper sets, also tourist kinds of things. I guess you could say I "collected" them as well FOR them.

I started collecting U.S. Stamps when I was 9. 40 years later I am still collecting them. I still get as much enjoyment out of it today as I did 40 years ago. Each stamp is like a tiny dollar bill riddled with history. I always made A's in history and majored in history in college. Collecting stamps and starting so early is the reason.

Hello Anne18 I collected hippos for a while, any sort, pottery, soft toys, mugs anything that anything to do with hippos! My friend has always collected frogs and still does to this day. Well she doesn't go out and buy froggie things people just always buy her them. I try to avoid buying her something froggie for her birthday or Christmas as I think she would like something not frog related, a real gift! Sometimes I just see something froggy and buy it for her anyway, regardless of if it is her birthday or no.
