Can you survive without your computer?

I'm not sure if I could survive without my computer. I like my computer because I can do just about anything. I would be fine for a while, maybe a day or so, but I think I'd get itchy, especially when thinking about the state of my inbox.

I could handle it for a day MAYBE. I can check email from my phone, but the computer is so much easier. I do EVERYTHING on the computer, from paying bills online, checking email, to doing payroll on quickbooks....I think that in todays world we are all getting more dependant on computers and email as forms of communication. I don't think I would be able to survive long without my computer!!!

No kidding! Actually, I work online, so I technically, really cannot live without my computer, but even if I had an offline job and/or a job outside the home, I couldn't go without it. I don't use a cellphone but I've accessed stuff from other people's and there's just no way I could do that regularly. My computer is my life! How sad is that? All my contacts, my social life, my work life, my radio, my TV... sad, just sad. That's why I have like eight boxes here - I went without a computer for about two weeks last year when the XP box finally busted and I plan to never go through that again!

Hey, When I just read your post I couldn't stop lol'ing. I mean when you wrote "especially when thinking about the state of my inbox." I couldn't stop laughing mainly because I also couldn't imagine the state of my own inbox too. On average with all the junk I have signed up to and all the spam I get on a regular basis, I get an average of 50 emails per day. Sometimes more and sometimes less. I once didn't check my email for about 3 days due to various reasons and when I finally checked it, it said 147 unread messages. MAN, I just couldn't imagine what it would look like after about 1 month of not checking my email, Microsoft might have to close my account, it might even go over the 5GB hotmail limit. But yea, I also could't survive without my computer, it has mostly everything I need like movies, music, games, Internet, MSN, etc...

I doubt you won't. Arguably, in a critical situation, you'll focus on the basic needs. Let's suppose for instance that you will survive a airplane crash and will eventually reach an unhabited island. Be sure that you won't even think at your computer, but will try to make anything you can in order to find some water/food. Computer is an usefull gadget in the urban civilisation, outside where is no electricity, is worthless.;-)

A day without it would make me start to miss it, as much as i miss my love LOL!! Haha, i just feel the need to check my inbox and online stuffs everytime i'm on. It gets pretty messy and i get pretty outdated if i leave it even if it's only 2 days!!
