A friend of mine was mentioning that he has a stinking belly button. He tried to wash it and rinse it carefully. Tried lots of things but his belly button remains stinky. Any remedies or suggestions?

I use peroxide to clean my belly button out. I'm not exactly sure what kind of stench he's having in his belly button, but if it's just a small one the hydrogen peroxide should clean it, and then I would say use soap and water after that.

Are you kidding me? Next question, how big is this friends stomach. Could it possibly be big enough the friend just can't see well enough to clean it? Have you looked at the friends belly button to see why it is so stinky? If not, maybe you should. If you have looked and don't see anything wrong. Than I suggest your friend get to a doctor as they would have some type of infection.

I've heard of that before, I think it was on the tv where I heard it, the suggestion was for the person to see their doctor about it, it could mean that they may have some kind of intestinal problem, like a hernia, and it needs to be addressed. I would suggest that he sees his doctor.

I have heard of stinking heads and stinking privates and stinking armpits, but this is the first I ever heard of a stinking belly button. One can't even take one's nose there; they how did he come to know it is stinking? Why not use some sweet smelling herb or deodorant? Sorry I can't help much. :) Cheers and happy Mylotting

I dunno about that.. All i know is that oen has to clean our belly button properly everyday while showering.. For a case like his, i think it should be some kind of infection and it's better for him to see a doctor, to find out the cause of it.. IF not, even he can clear the problem, and it will still come back again ^_^

He's doing well if he can bend over and smell his bellybutton! Maybe some fluff is caught in it and has caused an infection. He might be just imagining it smells, but he should probably see a doctor in case there's an ulcer or abcess.

Sounds like a yeast infection to me. Try eating lots of active culture yogurt and/or see his doctor for yeast infection medications.
