Calling out all those mylotters who managed to break anyones heart or ones own heart being broke by others... I would like to know what was the BREAK UP line you have used (for those who broke others heart) or line you've heard (for those who's heart was broken by their partner) For us to know what is the MOST FAMOUS BREAK-UP LINE! For me... she said "I am not ready yet for this kind of relationship" "SORRY" How about you... what did your partner used or what did you say? Thanks for responding here and spending your precious time on my discussion.

Of course, there is always the famous "it's not you, it's me". I've also used "I'm interested in dating someone else", "I love you, but I'm not in love with you", "We are better off as friends", "I want to meet new people" and "I'm thinking of becoming a lesbian". The last one back fired on me. The guy got turned on and asked if he could watch or join in. After a day or two, I had to tell him the truth. Also, my best friend was a little upset that I used her as the person I was in love with.

That first line you've mentioned was also mentioned by my EX and it confused me a lot... not knowing what is the real reason behind. SIGH

well i think i would say that my favourite break up line would be "im sorry to break this to you but, ITS OVER !" i have broken many hearts and my heart has been broken only once though..... but most of the cases i have used this line to break up.... there are many lines i have heard but i have found this to be the best..... i normally dont like doing it as i knwo it hurts a lot.... but sometimes it has to be done the hard way ..... some people dont understnad the sweet way..... some just dont wanna let go so you have to act a bit arrogant..... but what has to be done just has to be done i guess

wow i think those were some awesome comments i got for my response... two people who completely agree with me.... thats nice...yeah the last time there was this guy who just couldnt get over the fact that its actually over between us....for months he kept harrassing me and my family saying that "if she is going to be anyone's then she is going to be mine" and stuff like that..... completely insane man...he even went to the extent of giving my mom advice about addmitting me into a mental assylum (dont ask me why) i hope he has moved on though cos if he hasnt then "JUST TOO BAD FOR HIM" :p

You sound like the kind of person who really knows your decisions well. And perhaps those people you broke up with truly deserved those lines. Whew. I guess you're right, there are indeed people who just don't get 'over' when it's 'over', I guess those people truly deserve you being tough on them.

Wow, that's tough to hear it, right? But at least both had the courage to end what didn't feel right. Good luck to the present relationship.

I might prefer the last one than hearing complete LIES like... its not you its me... though the real reason is that he/she found somebody else....THAT is completely my EX attitude.

Personally I havent broken anyone heart yet So I don't know but I think that you should just be honest with whoever you are breaking up with. I mean you are already going to break their heart so why not do it with the truth. OR you could say things like * it's not you its me .... I am just goin gthrough some things and I need some time alone. I will call you once I get things figured out. *I need to work on myself... I can't be in love with you if I can't love myself. I Need to do some soul searching * We need to take a break * I am gay * You are just too expensive good luck people I hope to have helped helper

I am ashamed to admit this but my most famous break up line is..."I'm sorry but I'm sleeping with your brother" - I know, I'm totally going to hell.

I had 3 serious relationship before I got married. The causes are third party in his part not mine. They guy I had relationship with is a cheater so this is the famous line I told him. " It's over now, I don't need your explanation! I saw you are cheating on me...Good bye f*** you!!!" . I ended up crying...

After months of counselling to save our marriage, came home and he said, "so have you found a place to move to yet" I just watched him, pick up my phone and called a friend and that night I kept moving and never looked back. In my opinion, if someoen no longer wants to be with you, there is nothing you can do to save your relationship...move on!

Very true indeed... no matter how you try... it will not work if one doesn't want to continue the relationship. IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO as well in terms of LOVE!

I just think that Rhett Buttler's parting line to Scarlet O'hara is the best break-up line ever, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn".

The ones I know are "I'm not good enough for you" and "You deserve someone better then me." I don't know why people can't just be straight with each other? If you want to end it why not just say, I don't want to see you anymore. Then it's ended, if you use one of the lines you just string people along and make them think there is something they can do to keep the relationship going.

I will definitely agree with the TWO of YOU! I wish people would be speaking their hearts out and not trying to fool their partners with such delicate words with no sincerity at all. UGHH

Unfortunately savypat, sometimes people don't get it when you try being honest with them. I once had a guy sit there and actually argue with me, he just kept saying "no" and completely denying what was going on. It was actually kind of creepy and frightening.

So far I have got: - "sorry, that must have been temporary insanity" (we lived together for 6 monthes even!) - "it wasnt all my fault" (euh wah?! who is talking about fault here???) An I have given: - He: if i asked you to marry me, would you? - me: no (he asked that just the day I was going to tell him that I didnt think we were the right thing together)

My most famous break up line is GET OUT, I HATE YOU. I have always found this one to really get to the point and stop the relationship rather quickly. If they don't respond to this then you had better just leave without saying anything more. The point has already been said. Crocket.

I have heard the "It's not you it's me" line and then I heard one that was "Hey I met this really fine chick I can't see you anymore". Now I have in the past used the line on someone "I'm just not in love with you anymore and I need to go find myself" I was young, very tacky for me to use that line. I should have been more considerate of the other persons feelings. Well you live an learn.

I am so sorry my friend that this happened to you... but this can only mean that she did not deserve you - i hope you get over it as fast as you can - and trust me on this one - never look behind - once it failed once, it is very likely it will fail again. I had been through this about 10 times myself before finding a girl to really appreciate me for who i really am. So to get into the subject i think the most common 2 lines i heard in my days were: "I care very much for you, but i want us to be just pals" "I love you, but as a brother, not as a lover" - something like that.

i'm just curious. I know the nature of most mylot questions are only hypothetical but are you planning to break up with someone? Hope you don't mind me asking. Well, one time I had to break up with my bf whom I love so much because my parents disapproved of him. I had to tell him, "I have no choice but to give you up.". But he knows that I wasn't breaking up because I fell out of love. But it was hurting nonetheless.

For me, the best break up line is in the song of Craig David entitled "Don't love you know more". In the chorus, there is a line there that says: "...that's when you turned and said to me, I don't care babe whose right or wrong i just don't love you no more." OOOooouuuuccccchhhh!
