Child in New Jersey Named Adolf Hitler Can't Get A Birthday Cake! Why This Name?

I just read this story online that there is a couple in New Jersey who named their three year old child Adolf Hitler Campbell. Now for his third birthday they tried to order a cake from their local grocery store and were told by the store that they would not be able to honor their request for this order. The couple have two other children named JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell. Why oh why would someone in this day and age name their children these names? How can they possibly think that a store would honor their request to write out "Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler"? This is part of the story: "A New Jersey family who named their child after Adolf Hitler is having problems getting a birthday cake made for their 3-year-old. Heath and Deborah Campbell said their local ShopRite supermarket in Greenwich Township, N.J., refused to personalize a cake for their son, Adolf Hitler Campbell. "We believe the request ... to inscribe a birthday wish to Adolf Hitler is inappropriate," Karen Meleta, a ShopRite spokeswoman, told the Express-Times. Barry Morrison of the Anti-Defamation League agreed with ShopRite's decision. "Might as well put a sign around their [the children's] neck that says bigot, racist, hatemonger,"Morrison said. "What's the difference?" The Campbells say they don't understand what the big deal is. "ShopRite can't even make a cake for a 3-year-old," mother Deborah Campbell said."That's sad." What is sad, in my opinion is their obvious attitude towards life, etc. by the choices these parents made when naming their children. Imagine going through life with those names? Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

This is actually quite hilarious. Am I the only one laughing at this? Somebody who names their child Adolf Hitler obviously has issues. Also, trying to get a decent job and a wife with the name Adolf Hitler, wow. It almost seems impossible. Can you imagine how many fights this kid is going to get into? I pity young Adolf Hitler and his parents.

Oh it is just awful. I just found a website that shows his and his siblings birth certificates, and a picture of the little boy, and the Swastika on the family car. Here is the link if anyone wants to view this stuff. It is just unbelievable. http://photos.lehighvalleylive.com/gallery/4424/Adolf%20Hitler%20Campbell The kid even looks like he is holding a little plastic knife in his hand in the picture. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

Only "white trash" parents who have no good formal education can do this. Poor kid. Holocaust was and it is a historic fact. And the real Adolf Hitler killed thousands of Jews in concentration camps.

This is funny and, in more ways, sad. I don´t want to blame the parents for naming their kids after racists. I don´t want to think that they are mental or that they still live in that fantasy called ¨World Domination and Slavery¨. I don´t even know what´s on their mind. Maybe they were actually mocking these racists (remember that time when Prince Harry wore a some racist soldier´s uniform in a party?) and weren´t thinking that other people would look into it as big deal to them. Why can´t they just inscribe ¨Happy Birthday Adolf¨ since the Hitler part gives such gravity. Whatever the matter is, I still pity the kids.

What a saddness for the child to carry something like that around that is either a joke or some one not thinking.....the parents should be alittle more considerate when naming their kids....like thinking of what it will be like too when he is grown!

Whoa!! That ShopRite is only 4 miles from me!!!! Holy spit!!! WTF is wrong with these people?? Every name they've given their children is associated with Nazism in some way - that doesn't speak highly for the parents at all. I'm surprised the state hasn't stepped in to do something about it. I'm not saying I'm in favor of the state deciding what our children's names are, but there have been times throughout this country when the parents are trying to name their child something so peculiar that it will cause more harm than good to the child. I think this is one of them. The mother's as clueless as a certain lame duck president who can't understand what some guy's beef is with him in Iraq.

Unfortunately I doubt very much that the parents will ever do that. These kids will probably be raised with these philosophies too. It is a shame... Thanks for your comment, have a great day, and happy myLotting!!! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!

Well naming their children with infamous names is just as bad choice of name. I really think that a name should be given appropriately since they would have to carry that name all their life. they could have named him Adolf but no more of the Hitler extension and there would be no problem at all. I guess parent's are just grandstanding about their belief and challenging the system until when they could exert the freedom they enjoy in your country. It is just sad that the children are the ones carrying the stigma and not the parents because I think they have normal names.

I pitied the poor boy for having such parents like them. I guess doing this (naming their kids w/ some Nazi touch) are just some acts of silliness. Am pretty sure they are not that ignorant not to know what those names means specially ADOLF HITLER. If they are not cummunist or somebody who still cherish the Hitler way then I guess they just want to create some "fame" at the expense of their kids. I wonder if these parents have already figured out how many fights their son will be facing soon just because of having that name, it might be too late for them to regret.

I say we should all chip in and buy them a one way ticket to Berlin, so they can have their cake and eat it too! That kid will be in fights and trouble as he grows up, and my bet is he will be in prison before he is 25. His parents (I use that term loosely) have sentenced him to a horrible childhood.

I think these parents need their heads checking out. Why would they call their son Adolf Hilter. They obvisously wanted to get noticed by doing this. They must of known this name would give this boy problems. I do not think people should be allowed children sometimes. This really is so unfair on that poor child.

There is a family near where I live that has two boys - Jesse and James. I thought THAT was bad... until I heard this. Really, why are some parents cruel in how they name their kids? Fine, they were expressing an opinion, but you GOTTA know that the kids are going to have a difficult time growing up with names like these! Freedom of speech doesn't mean you have to be an idiot with other people's lives.

How horrible of the parents to name their kid that. But, I don't think it's the store's business to decide who should get a cake. It's the kid's legal name, for goodness sake. Why make a federal case out of it?

I feel extremely sorry both for the kids and for the parents. Yes, they should have considered the future consequences before they named their children thus. However, as parents they do have every right to call their child what they want. I have come across some really weird human ‘right’s violation, but not being able to name my child whatever I want, surely takes the ‘cake. After all, there isn’t any copyright on these names, are there?

Wow, those people must be some of the biggest a$$holes on the planet. Also, Anton LeVey who is a bigtime Satanist named his son Satan. I don't know who's worse. Those Campbell parents are scum for dooming their children to walking the Earth with those names. They must be mentally unbalanced.

i could MAYBE understand 1 of the names as in just adolf or something but not adolf hitler campbell!! and i read the news on msnbc and its like they are mad that they are being called racist but hwo can you not be perceived as that with those names!! not to mention the father (i think it was the father) was german and said he was raised to not be around other races BUT because they have all races at the birthday party that OBVIOUSLY means they ARENT racist!! BS!! i wanna know how the school system is gonna handle this!! i guess we will be reading about this in a couple of years when something happens school wise for little adolf..

Well silly me I was going to say maybe named after a grandparent until I reread. Oh my well, it is after all freedom. Well, once they are older they can change if they want. But one never knows. I'm german and proud. But that doesn't mean I'm proud of Hitler. Adolf was a good German name it is the last name that was still Ok until the man wrecked it. I'm not to happy with alot of names but then they are not ours. Ok I have to stop as I'm just lost on this. That wasn't nice to name there kids that but then make your own birthday cake or one of your friends. They just wanted on the news by using there kids. What a shame. Oh my have a good day and a very Merry Christmas. Your friend onlydia.....see ya on win

first: calling your child adolf hitler is not even possible I think. The state authorities would not accept such a name at least in my country they wouldnt. I do not agree with the action of calling your child with such a heavy load wether it is bad or good. I would also not agree with people calling their son Jesus Christ in devotion of Jesus. second: if you order a birthday cake saying happy birthday adolf hitler, as a shopkeeper I would deliver the cake. It is not my business that they have named their child inappropriate and as a shopkeeper it is not my place to judge on that. it would be the same as refusing to make wedding cakes for gay people for example.

It's shocking! I can't believe it! My question is: why could they call so their son? Why at the register of births didn't they receive a ban? I think that in Italy, if parents would call so a son, they'd receive a strict prohibition from Municipality! I can't believe this story!!!! :(
