Do you know that the tips of your fingers have nerves that when stimulated, also stimulates the brain? that's why when you are typing you are also exercising your brain. and i think your a weirdo.

I won't say I like typing and specially every time. Sometimes I in a mood to type and in that time maybe I am on this website or maybe I'm writing my online diary. But there are times when I do not like to even pressed a single key on the keyboard and if at that time someone tells me to do something on the computer it does irritate me. And that is why I think the time should come when we can practically speak to the computer and command forms and the computer will understand that and react accordingly. If that can be done then I guess it will be a big development in the computer technology and that will not only simplify our working on the computer would also save a lot of time with that. Learning computers will also become very easy if this technology is being developed quickly. Right now they are lot of people who find it rather difficult to cope with the technology of computer. If such a softer can be developed or maybe a hardware which can understand what we are talking about, there is no need for an artificial intelligence may be logical thinking but simple understanding the key words commands than it can do a lot. So I guess if I think in the avoided with something like dictation then the computer is personal again and even more.

There probably is such thing as voice commands for computers. You can talk to cellphones to have them call people.

That's cool. Mylot is a great place to learn all sorts of things. Typing, spelling, and just a bunch of random bits of info. I bet mylot never thought of that when they made this site. I agree though. When I first started to learn to type I hated it,but now that I am faster I love it. I guess it's reallythe same with most all things though. anyways thanks and happy holidays.

Typing does keep your fingers fit, but it can also cause carple tunnel. That's what I am scared of since I type so much. Not too scared to cut back on it though. lol. oh well. Have a jolly day.

i also like typing. when i was in college i have 2 units of typing in our curriculum but before we only use typewriter as the medium for typing. basically the keys from a typewriter is almost the same as that of the keyboard of the computer the only difference is the number keys etc on the right side of the keyboard.

I've used a typewriter before, but just for fun not because I had to. There are numbers on the side of a computer keyboard.

I like to type too. It is fun when I'm on a good roll and I can hear the keys tapping and I know I'm really going fast. If you want to see about how fast you type there are sites online that will test you. Just search for typing test or typing speed and it will bring it up. You can test for free, but if you want a copy of your test scores like say for a job or something then you have to pay a small fee I think. But they will show you how fast you typed without signing up or anything. I checked mine awhile ago and I was averaging 60 words per minute. I go faster when i am typing my own thoughts then when I type the paragraph they give me.

Yeah I like that too. I have taken typing tests before, but I cant remember what I got. I will take one soon though. 60 is pretty fast. I wonder if I can beat you. lol. :) You're right though. It is much easier to type things you're thinking than to read and type them. Especially in the typing tests cuz they have weird things to try to mess u up. Well thanks. Have a good day and happy holidayz.

I love to type also. I have always been good at it. I was the fastest and most accurate typist in my 11th grade class. That was a long time ago when we used typewriters instead of computers. Since the invention of computers, it has become even more fun to type as we used to have to use correction paper and correction fluid to correct our mistakes. Now we just use the backspace or delete key. I do not think you are a weirdo at all. Bet you will find out lots of people like to type.

Well it's good to know I'm not alone I guess. My family used to own a typewriter for some reason though I'm not sure why since computers were invented and we had one. But I did find it fun to type on those as well. I used to type my parents notes on it. I guess we got rid of it though. Anyways, thanks and happy holidays!! :)

It's funny that you should mention that because I LOVE typing too! I just love feeling my fingers fly across the keyboard and I can recover very fast when I make any mistakes. I don't know my exact WPM though. In my last job I had to slow it down a bit in order to avoid getting carpel tunnel like everyone else. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

That's good that you like to type, I too love to type and I have a typing speed of around 50 to 65 words per minute. My fingers are starting to ache a little now though and I'm wondering whether I'm starting to suffer from this Repetitive Strain Injury, a condition common with regular typists! Andrew

i love typing....sometimes when im bored i do encode and encode using typing master software which measure my wps..and sometimes even the computer unit is off i do just put my hands at the keyboard and press and press the letter comes in my mind.... well its good to know that am not alone in this world..ha.ha.ha and i think those things help me to be more faster than i am before..and sometimes i can encode more or less than 60wmp...
