I am watching this show right now and they are in Japan. I am absolutely culture shocked. I am such a picky eater that you can imagine my suprise when I saw them eating raw eels, tuna eyes, and many other raw and somewhat strange(to me) seafoods. I don't eat any kind of seafood, nothing, nada. The last time I ate anything that once swam was about 15 years ago and I doubt I ever will again. So this show is crazy. He goes to a different country every show to sample the cultural cuisines. Even though my stomach was turning over and lurching the whole time, it is actually an interesting show.

I love this show! Most of the time I find the food disgusting, but that's what keeps me entertained. I think it's funny that I'm squirming in my chair and making yucky faces. I'm part Japanese, but born and raised in America. I love Japanese food, but I don't dare touch some of the weird things they eat on that show. Sushi is one of my favorite foods, but I can't say I've ever had raw eels. I'll eat baked eels and that tastes great, but I don't think I could ever do raw eels. Eeewwww!

That's what I did. I sat there watching and gagging but just couldn't turn the channel! I was mesmerized by the things he was eating. Never in a million years would I consider even smelling some of those things but the show is great! He does a really good job making the things look like they taste awesome! Thanks for the response.

Isn't it crazy how he can actually make it seem like it tastes great! I was shocked. There has only been a couple things I have seen him not really like!

I really don't see how he can eat stuff like, he was drinking some soy milk about said it was the worst thing he had ever eaten and I laughed so hard because here he eats all this weird stuff and he can't even drink soy milk! LOL.

yupe....i already watch the show...it really a very interesting show, we can see that in some part of country the bizzare stuff become yummy food for the local people in that country... Like in asian country such as indonesia, malaysia, thailand... durian became one of special delicious food but in one episode of Andrew Zimmerman show, he cannot eat it..he actually try it twice and cannot eat it. In other country he eat maggot, worm, grasshopper and....other weird stuff. I really amazed that he can eat that stuff with no hesitation....Bravo Andrew Zimmerman... You got to try watch Anthony Bourdain show to... He loves to travel to different country and taste the local cuisine that sometimes weird for us..... Love the show, teaching us to see things in different perspective in different way BR

It is interesting! I want to see the one that he actually can't eat something! I was amazed to. He just ate this stuff like it was a cheeseburger. It is amazing to see the different cultural preferences. I have never seen anything like this in my life.

I watch that show all of the time. When I was growing up my father insisted on bringing strange foods home for us to sample. His motto was "Don't say you don't like it unless you have tried it". I am pretty adventurous when it comes to food, so I have kept up what he started. I try new things as often as I can. Some of the things I have tried have been incorporated into my regular diet. I eat sushi, cactus and frog's legs on a regular basis.

My mom tried that on me with stuff like mayonnase and eggs but I always lost it. I have never been able to be adventurous, ever. I couldn't even take liquid cough medicine without vomiting. Alot of people eat sushi in the states, I am actually surprised at how much. Also I have heard alot of frog legs, never had them myself. Is cactus like coconut inside? You have a very interesting lifestyle! That's awesome.
