With the holidays coming up, I'm interested to see how many of you will be staying home versus traveling. My family always stays home, and on Christmas it's just our family. So my question is: On Christmas/during other holidays, do you.. -Stay home with your immediate family alone -Stay home and have others come celebrate with you -Travel to relatives/friends homes to celebrate -Travel somewhere alone or with your immediate family -Or something else that I have missed

No travel plans. Of course, I do wish I could take my wife away from the rat race as we both need to get away. I am unemployed at the moment and things are real tough as I am having to take care of my mother who has a number of health problems, but I do want to do what I can to give her a good holiday. We are going to spend time with local family and friends.

I know what you mean when you say you want to get away, and I'm sorry to hear about your mother. Spending time with friends and family can still give you feel of getting away, and I hope it does for you!

I live very close to Chicago, so I do like going into the city, and I can only imagine how mice it would be to spend Christmas in New York. I hope you eventually are able to take a Christmas vacation to where you want!

I am staying home. If the wife wants to go somewhere, that is fine with me. I will stay here alone with the dogs and enjoy my day off, but I am not going anywhere...

Yes! I'm glad to hear you get to celebrate at your grandparents for the first time. And I'm sure most your neighbors won;t mind having fireworks go off during a time of celebration, as long as you're careful and don't hurt anyone!

That's nice to hear that you get to spend time with the family you do have. I have very little extended family, but most of the ones I do live in the same town as me so I get to see them pretty often. Seeing my family together is one of my favorite things about Christmas, the other being that people in general just seem happier this time of year.

As my family financial is not good, we didn't and won't leave for holidays. We stay home and do what we can do. As for me, I spend many hours on myLot. Beside, I also have non-paid job as a driver where I have to do most job relating to driving such as go to shop and sent my mother to school for incoming school days. Tomorrow, I would have to do two things. First is send and accompany my grandparents to have some massage things. The other one is send my brother to hospital for his appointment with doctor in the evening. And there are still many things waiting for me. Have a nice day! :)
