First thing when ever a foreigner talks about going to India is Taj mahal. No doubt it is very beautiful and the love story behind it makes it much more fascinating. Then the story of cruelty after it was made is another thing which makes it fascinating but if it was only one place i would go to Himalayas. The Himalayan experience is unique. The snow, the height, the people there, the history of cities and the lovely nature of people takes breath away. And second place you want to see is Rajasthan. Go see it in on palace on wheels. It is 5 star train just for to see Rajasthan. It is super luxury train. You are not only treated as maharaja ( emperor) but u actually live in the rooms in train which were owned by them and history and big palaces of rajasthan again is breath taking.. Jaipur is called Pink city because every home is pink there and it is not small city by any means a population of well over 4 million people. then u go to ajmer, bikaner, chittor, Jodhpur , jaselmer and so many other cities..lovely place

The Himalayas, yes! We have a mountain city here in the Philippines and when I took a trip there as a young girl, I fantasized that I was on a trip to the Himalayas. There you are, Ratcliffe. To the Himalayas, then on palace on wheels to Rajasthan, then Jaipur, Ajmer... I myself would love a trip to the pink city. Thank you for the information, agrim! Happy mylotting!

I know someone who loves to go to the mountains and stick his feet in ice cold water of the rivers and drink tea. I have never been to the mountains nor seen that much snow in my life. I would love to play in it like a kid and look at how beautiful it is at night with the moon shining on the snow. The train sounds like something i would love to go on too. I have never been on a real train either. That would be exciting.

See the Taj Mahal. Sorry, I'm not from India, but I think seeing the Taj alone is worth a trip to this country. You can wonder at its fine and complex multi-styled architecture, or immerse yourself in its political history, or even be entranced with its romantic background. Anyways, maybe someone who actually is from India might come across your post and be able to give you better information. Happy mylotting!

The Taj Mahal is definitely on my list though i have read news on the internet recently that said they might be closing it down to tourists! That would be horrible if i couldn't see it at least once before it is closed. It is so beautifully and majestic yet so delicate.

Goa ( best place for foreign tourists) 7 Shimla(another winter spot) 8. Sikkim (simply amazing) 9. North Bengal(for the Himalayan mountain in the eastern side) 10. Eastern Ghats, Western Ghats, Vindhya (all amazing mountain ranges) 11. Hi, India is a very vast country and it depends on your interest what you want to see. We have everything from snow covered mountains to Indian ocean, from wettest place on earth to desert, very hot places to coldest places, from beautiful beaches to highlands. But if i have to see one place i would tour Jaipur. It is capital of Rajasthan and was built in 16th century. Its old city is still painted pink and no one is allowed to have shop or house of any other colour in walled city since it was built in 16th century. It had majestic palaces and every modern thing from big hotels to sky scrappers. big malls and small shopes, shopes where you can buy kfc chicken to antique. so take your pick

I can give you four choices. 1. Kashmir 2. Simla 3. Ooty and 4. Backwater's of kerala. If you ask about my choice, i would say 4.Kerala, because Kerala is god's own country or land of god.
