And it was not because of rain, but because a stupid water conduct exploded in our basement and flooded the whole basement on a 10 centimeters constant level as we kept pouring the water out with the buckets. The thing is that only a few people helped me to get the water out and in the end it was just me and an old neighbor around to the last part and i think that i got about 40 buckets of 20 litters of water our of the basement. I feel exhausted now but wanted to know this: Do you ever get flooded ?

I have experienced flooding on three different occasions. The first was in 2003 when a tornado touched down in my town. My apartment flooded because the flood drain on the parking lot get clogged up with leavesand branches. The water had nowhere to go so it ended up in my apartment. I had about 5 inches of water above the top of the carpet --that was after the carpet and padding soaked up all the water it could. My second flood experience was a couple of years later during a flash flood rain. My basement flooded --actually only the basement bedroom flooded, but it was still a huge mess. Then, about 2 weeks later, the basement bedroom flooded again.

the river behind my house flooded and it filled my whole, **whole** basement with water my poor cat was on the very top stair trying to stay dry.

Wow! No, certainly not like you just did, anyway! My water heater burst once and I had water everywhere in the basement, but nowhere near as much as what you just went through! I'm glad to hear that you managed to get it all up. It's a shame that more people wouldn't help you! I know that must have been an exhausting job because water is heavy! I know you're exhausted but don't you feel good now that it's all over? Job well done! Man! I hope you never have to go through anything like THAT again!

Yeah i hope so to. The thing is that the pipe broke just before the junction pedal so we couldn't shut it down fast and we had to wait for the utilities workers to come, go in a sewer and shut it down.

I never got flooded by pipe leaking like that, Twice I had some of the pipes in the kitchen dripping, but I was quick enough and fixed it. I was, however flooded by the neighbour from the next level... The water wasn't really flowing but it was dripping from the bathroom ceiling.

I know, how it feels. Its really exhausting process. We had somewhat a same problem in my house also. But the was not so much. We could not even use the bucket. I had to wipe it off with a piece of rag. And it took me around 1-2hrs to make the floor completely dry. I can understand you quite well. Hope to read your reply soon. Thanks Bye....

We did a lot of times. But it was because of heavy rain. It was a common happenings in our old place. But since we are now living on the other place, we no longer experience it. Good thing all of you were safe.

Yes, here in Florida it rains often, and the idiots who built our apartment complex, didn't think much about where the rain would drain, so being bottom floor, we get some wetness from time to time! Thank god for tile!

ever flooded? it was yearly venue before I move to my new house. The city where I live in alway got flooded every year. It doesn't need the rain to cause it, high tide could cause part of the city drowned. It was a nightmare, where you sleep interrupted and you need to save your belonging in a hurry. You are lucky, you only have 10 centimeters of flood. I used to minimum 30 centimeters of flood got in the house. But, it's history and now I could sleep tight even the rain pouring down like a crazy. BR.b

I have a flood before, but just a minor one. We accidentally forgot to remove the towel that was covering the drain and over time the washing machine would spit out water and after a while water would rise over the counter. It eventually flooded the kitchen floor, but just small one.

Yes, before when I was still around 9 or 10. When suddenly a big rain come over and flooded our place. It flooded because of a leak in the water system. It really looks like a big swimming fool and the depth around 2 feet from the ground.

Yes, more than once.. From pipes bursting.. and the other time Rain into the basement through the garage.. then a sinkhole from under the basement whee the water came int from the ground... I seem to have the oddest luck with that... Visit my sisters house pipes freeze bust... Return home the moment I am walking down the stairs after being gone for a month with the gut feeling to come home.. and all of sudden boom pipe bursts before my eyes... within minutes the basement was full of 3 inches of water... Well.. Then I discover my sisters put my books on the floor so lost 200 books of Sacred texts and spiritual reading.. I was not a happy camper... But then I am at my parents house.. in year 2000 pipes break.. leak onto the wire to the power box of the really big house.. electricity comes up through that water to the shower handle... I get shocked... Not a fun shower.. and I refused to shower inside for months.. till they fixed that pipe even thouse it was not leak on a wire anymore I still refused to go in till it was fixed... all the way... Then I get struck by lightning.... Lightning Travels down what a huge old pipe in the side of the house... That runs from upstairs bathroom downstairs through cupboards into the basement..... (once upstairs, twice in room below, once at bottom of stairs.. to many lightning strikes..) Gee.. Maybe pipes are bad luck for me.. :) ... Note to self: Never stand near a pipe when water rushes through it Never stand near a pipe when its thunderstorming Never stand near a pipe when the temperature drops.. Never Stand near a pipe that is near anything electrical :) ... But the worse flooding... Was the day the septic tank backed up.. oh yuckidoodles :) ... I help clean up after a water flood instead of a Septic tank backing up into the basement flood.. blech. Have a great day, and I hope you do not have to worry about flooding anymore. - DNatureofDTrain

We used to but not anymore. It was my GrandMa's house and just a bit of hard rain can make her house a whole indoor swimming pool. We didnt need to take the water out because it would just drain itself and the little water left can be wiped dry. I remember the water would reach up to my knees but then again I was just a kid when that happened. She renovated her house after some years and it now doesnt get flooded anymore.^_^ Hope you dont get flooded that much again. Take care always.^_^

Yes last november 30, 2006. Only the rooftop of our house was seen. We evacuated because of the flood. We had a typhoon that time and it was raining so hard with zero visibility. My house was washed out and all our belongings was lost. It was a very grim experience for the whole family especially to my daughter who at that time is only 3 yrs old. I think this is my second life here on earth. For me and my daughter are about to be washed out by the strong current of the water thanks to the people who saved us. Maybe that's it I can tell for I am about to cry remembering that experience.

Yes! A lot of times! It's very annoying because our place gets easily flooded. Just as it rains nonstop and heavily for just a couple of hours and then our kitchen gets flooded, next our bathroom then the whole living room if the rain continues...We usually get flooded when there's a typhoon/ storm...Very troublesome.
