Did you know that pecans are particularly good for you because they contain more antioxidants than any other nut. Antioxidants are substances found in foods that protect against cell damage and, studies have shown, can help fight diseases like heart disease, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and cancer. Just a handful of pecans contains vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc and fiber, as well as antioxidants.

I better start eating some, i think i'm already getting Alzheimer. Sometimes i go to get something from the kitchen and when i get there i just stand there because i can't remember. That's pretty bad.

This is good information. I do not eat a lot of nuts but my husband does. I would always tell him off as he eats to many of them. I thought they where bad for you but this is great news. Pecan nuts are nice and to here they contain more antioxidants than any other nut is great. I always take more vitamin C in Winter, so now I can eat a handful of nuts aswell as all the other things with vitamin C in them.

pecans - Pecans are my favorite, but they are very expensive and I buy them once in a while although they are very good for the health.
Hello Shar. I love to eat pecans, but they are very expensive and I buy them once in a while. I am very glad to know that pecans are so good to the health, especially good to help fight diseases like heart disease and cancer. So I think that I will buy them and eat them more often for the good of health. Thank you for the information to us, friend.

I am nuts about nuts and will eat any kind of nut. I believe that nuts are good for you. That they are delicious does nothing to deter me from going nuts over nuts. Cheers!!

Most nuts are good for you. You have to stay away from processed foods and eating nuts is a great way of snacking without eating cheese doodles or potato chips. The only thing is they are high in calories so you should not overindulge. I also hear they have heart healthy oils in a lot of nuts so that is a bonus too as well as the other nutritional and health benefits.

pecans, how do you pronounce that? I love these nuts, but watch out they also have the highest calorie count. Chop them and they are great on fruit, in salad and on ice cream. Thanks
