What is the shortest amount of sleep you have ever gotten?

There are so many reasons to stay up at night. Good movies, SNL or MadTV on Saturdays. Talk shows. Sleep overs. All-nighters! But, sleep deprivation does hurt us in the end. I honestly cannot recall what the longest is that I have gone without sleep. I think it's difficult to remember such a thing because after I finally did get sleep I just slept forever. Unfortunately we cannot "catch up" on sleep. Reason being that damage has already been done to our heart =[ the longer you stay up, the more your heart has to work. Keep that in mind next time you decide to skip a few hours of sleep. Try not to do it too often. It may start to show after awhile!

I've been wide awake for over a week, then I started to hallucinate badly the entire world looked like a cartoon comic everything was so bright and I kept talking to people that weren't there and could stare at the wall and watch it slowly start to twist and melt. I think I started dreaming with my eyes open it was a little scary and all I wanted was for everybody to leave me alone and stay in my room by myself, Amphetamines are not fun you'll crash eventually and it's not even worth it!

Great advice. I did not know that about your heart. I have only had four hours sleep in the last two nights. I thought I could catch it up in the morning as I was planning on a lie in but it never happens.
I will try to get more sleep as I do not want to cause myself anymore ill health than what I already have. Great advice and thank you.
