My family always has turkey for thanksgiving and ham for Christmas. I however do not particularly enjoy ham so this year I'm thinking of having turkey yet again. What do you think, what's the best meat for Christmas?

In my family, it's ham for Easter, turkey for Christmas and Thanksgiving and polish sausage, cabbage and boiled potatoes for New Year's Eve. I'm not much of a ham fan either and why break with tradition. Whatever you decide to cook, have a wonderful Christmas.

Ham is tradition in my family too, cause we have turkey for thanksgiving and we're eating left overs from that for what seems like FOREVER!!!!

I have no clue what we normally have for Christmas. I know that is really bad. I think it is pork roast, which I am not fond of. I don't get why we can have something like lasagna instead.

I would love to have ham with pineapple slices and sweet potatoes for Christmas dinner. However, since I am not cooking, I will eat whatever I am provided and will get nice ham for New Year. I don't like doing a turkey. It is too much work. When we do have turkey, we get the Jennie-O white and dark meat loaf from the freezer case.

I agree with you; if I'm not cooking I'll eat what's in front of me and like it! My mom makes a really good candied ham I just don't really like the taste of ham. Maybe I'm picky.

My family doesn't like Turkey that well so Thanksgiving does us in! LOL We do Italian for Christmas. We all fix our favorite Italian dish and go to my moms and have dinner. We usually have Duck for New Years and Ham for Easter. But if you and your family like Turkey then go for it! LOL I would much rather fix something I was going to enjoy. Have a great Christmas

Sometimes it's good to break with tradition. Who knows, you may just start a new tradition! My family always had turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas, until everyone got sick and tired of so much turkey. For a while they changed to beef, either prime rib or steak. When I started doing Christmas dinner for the extended family I changed entirely, and had lasagna. Everyone loved it, because it was something that none of them ever made. I paired it with a salad and a homemade french onion soup or a minestrone soup. And, what made it nice is that everything was put together the day before. No one was stuck in the kitchen all day.
