like if you made a book where it was an interactive type thing where some one would have to use it along with the internet to solve brain teasers how would you go about getting that published?? i have yet to find any agents looking for that and i doubt its something common.. probably impossible to even try to do but i have a great idea and figured i might as well look into it if possible.. try and actually look into 1 of the million ideas in my head floating around before i forget about it and lose it forever.. maybe that will be my new years resolution!! lol

Have you thought of doing it in reverse? Get it popular on the net and people will be banging down your door to get a piece of your publishing rights. :)

The trick is getting sponsors, if you plan it well enough, you can get email related companies and ask them for a joined promotion, they give a product for a prize, and you do all the work. Alternative, you could build your ideas into an internet game which you can build up slowly. That's more of my area so pop me a private message if you're interested :)

I have heard that with the internet, many people are publishing and promoting their own product. Thru social networking sites they are able to introduce their product to the masses. I know that several of the young rappers and singers have done this and as a result made alot of money and popularity before hitting mainstream. As for the details of doing this I have no idea. I do know that the internet can be a powerful tool if you know what to do with the masses.

yeah a lot of people self publish but i know i looked into that route when i was doing research with my novel but i decided against it because i woudlnt know how to go about doing it.. i have social anxiety so i couldnt picture going to book stores and begging them to have my book lol.. but with this puzzle book idea i would need a lot of like guidance on how to deal with copy write laws.. if i have a question or something and they have to find it on the internet i would prob have to have permission from the sites that i would use as an answer.. figures i would find a way of making it more complicated eh?? lol

Here ya go, moon... all about copywrites and how to get one: http://www.copyright.gov/ I got one on a book I wrote awhile back... a dream dictionary. It's very easy. You send them the application form, a copy of your book and whatever the fee is now and that's that. They send you the copywrite!

Why don't you try setting up a blog site and then post a few of those puzzle you have in mind? This will give you a better idea of how well received it would be. And it could also be the start of your promotion of your book. First of all, get a draft first. And then approach publishers to see if they are receptive to your idea. Expect a lot of rejections initially. But if you do not give up, you will eventually find one that is willing to publish your book. And when that happens, you would have achieved your dreams!

Hi, moon. That sounds like an awesome idea but I have no idea which type of publisher you'd want to aim for. All I can say is to do searches online. I did one search. I didn't come up with a publisher for you but I did find something very interesting. It's a contest for self-published writers. If you're interested in going that route, here's the link to the info on the contest: http://www.writersdigest.com/selfpublished [NOT a referral link!!!]. Good luck to you! Keep focused... you can do it! Just think about the bottom line (i.e., get published, make money, become recognized, etc.). Maybe make a motivational poster and put it up somewhere where you'll see it every day... something like, 'Stay Focused! Get the book finished!' you know, something along those lines. That's what I've done most of my life and it has always seemed to help. (I have ADD, too. ) What was I talking about?
