Dear Friends I have read and seen many times in newspaper about people flying using hot air baloons from here to there . I was thinking cant we all can buy hot air baloon and place it in home( or home roof store) and whenever we need to fly we can just inflate it with fuel and fly to our destinations . Have you ever thought of it , is it possible have you ever had hot air baloon ride ? How you felt ?Whats speed we fly with it ? What do you think is this a good and cheaper ,easier way to fly without using aeroplane ,are you planning to buy hot air baloon ? Thanks Ganesh

I can think of so many reasons why this would not work, though it is a nice thought and I suppose if you are really curious about it, a good topic. Otherwise, it just isn't feasible. I can only imagine that most of the respondents, such as myself, are here to reason the thought and not entertain it. You don't see people traveling by hot air balloons often. It is a very costly "HOBBY" and you have to devote a lot of time to set up, take off and safe landing, all with having people on the ground tracking you, in case of an emergency. Hot air balloons are not easily controlled, either. If two were coming at each other, you'd be better off praying for a good wind to redirect you than to try to steer away from each other. Then there are all the other arguments against this as a means of travel. Sure it's a great hobby, an expensive one at that, dangerous, and regardless of training, which is much different from a driver's education, it is an absurd idea in my opinion. Not to mention I'm deathly afraid of heights. Get a bike, a motorcycle or a fuel efficient car and view the country all you want. Leave the ballooning to the real experts. It would take years to get as good as 1/4 of the "pilots" of balloons. Great idea if it were more practical.

Dear Friend Thanks for appreciating my discussion . Yes some people are afraid of heights . But even four wheeler or any vehicle needs to be learnt first ,no one is born with driving skills . I hope we will have more advance form of hot air baloons soon in market for personal travel . But with more advance technology , cheaper hot air baloon may come with more control of baloonist using the technology . Yes I agree with you to some extent , I think hot air baloon are in evolution stage and it will take some more time before we can use them personally Thanks for your response and such a nice information...! Dear Friend I think technology has advanced so musch that we can install smart aero engines into hot air baloons and control its direction easliy . Yes wind is a big challenge but with new technology we can have better control . The hot air baloon evolution will take some more time for better versions of it Thanks for your response and such a nice information...! Happy Mylotting Take Care Ganesh

I also wanted to mention that when you Hot Air Balloon, you leave a destination, not to return to the original take off point. You can't come to and from, because the balloon is propelled mainly by the wind. Leaving your home and hoping to return to it would be difficult! It seems to me you would always have to have a way home, and have to pack the balloon up, only to start again later with your travels, if leaving from your home. Thanks for the nice comment!

Hello my friend ganesh44 Ji, While Visit to Wall-Disney world in Miami area, i had a chance to take a ride on Hot-ballons, but was snatched away by my shear foolishness, and my hubby went in that. One may buy and keep with one and use as per one's requirement. there is nothing wrong, as one is limited to one's resources. but think of an accident, who would be responsible, Govt. may not support, till it is registered properly with license to fly. But, once it has been recognised transportation, people may opt. If you have an urge, you can convert it into registered one with Govt and ply as per your will and plaesure. may god bless you and have a great time.

I have always wanted to take a hot air balloon ride. It is an intriguing idea of being able to use them as a vehicle. But in many places, including where I live, it would not be practical because there are too many power lines and trees. Also with the winds the way they are I would hate to try to go somewhere and not be able to get there because the wind changed.Maybe one day someone will invent a better hot air balloon. I know that right now there are several ideas and models for flying cars so maybe...

Dear Friend Hi Lei ,yes thanks for appreciating the idea ,good to know you want to take the ride soon. Yes with advance technology I think we will develop more controls on hot air baloon .....if we can reach on other planets it is a small task i think lol All the best ! It would definitly be a very cheap way to fly, but it would take forever! Convenience is what most people seem to want these days and I think even if hot air baloons was an option most would still rather pay the high price for an airline ticket, just becuase it is faster and I would also think it would be alot safer too. But that is a very smart idea. :)

Dear Friend Thanks for appreciating my idea ....... But I think we may use hot air baloon for initially shorter journey say of upto 60 km before more fast movig baloons are advented . Yes weather is a big challenge for it . Yes I agree with you to some extent , I think hot air baloon are in evolution stage and it will take some more time before we can use them personally Thanks for your response and such a nice information...! It would definitely be much slower than cars. Hot air balloons travel at a pretty slow rate compared to other transportation vehicals. Also, they are probably pretty expensive. Also, if you used it often and you got into trouble, it would be hard to get help, since you're in the sky. Although, this would be really fun.

Dear Friend ohh no they are not expensive ,much cheaper .A hot air baloon cost 5000$ approx Even if we have some problem in aeroplane we can face trouble since we are in sky and no one can reach us lol Yes they are bit slow but with advance technology we can have better controls on them Thanks for your response and such a nice information...! hot air ballooning is a sport and everyone cannot ride in it.The is no special or prescribed physical requirement for a person interested in taking up the sport of hot air ballooning. However, expectant mothers and people suffering from high blood pressure and heart problems must stay away from it. If you are afraid of heights, then hot air ballooning is not for you. In short, you must be fit physically as well as mentally to enjoy the thrills of hot air ballooning.During descent, be wary of electric poles, wires and spires. Land only on a clear piece of ground.

Dear Friend Yes those who are sick are even disallowed that is normal I think when going on heights .Yes we must not be fearful of air travel using baloon first of all . We will only land in empty space like country side or village Thanks for your response and such a nice information...! Happy Mylotting Take Care Ganesh

What destination...you can not steer a hot air ballon. ANd what about wires and things, they are dangerous to ballonists. Flying a hot air balloon is expensive. No, I do not plan on buying one, they are not a realistic form of transportation, they are hobbies for those who can afford them.

Using a hot air balloon can be a fun way to get around...as long as you don't care where you get around to. Hot air balloons only go where the wind blows, and somebody in a pick-up truck has to follow you around to pick up the deflated balloon whenever and wherever you are when you land. Oh...and better be prepared for a rough landing because the basket of a hot air balloon does not generally come gently down for a soft upright landing as in the movies. Usually the balloon is drifting with the wind as it comes down so when the bottom of the basket hits the ground it slows down or stops moving while the top part is still being pulled along by the moving balloon. So...the basket tips over! Hot air balloon rides can be fun, yes, but they are definitely not a very practical way to get from place to place.

Dear Friend ha ha ha lol oh with engine we can control the direction I think dont worry we wont be blows away by the wind lol But yes in case of storm we can not help doing this Yes we will learn how to land ,life baloon as we do learn driving other vechicles Yes but with new ideas and technology things can be improved to better Thanks for your response and such a nice information...! you know i guess we could BUT it would be very time consuming unless some one comes up with one that wont take so long to inflate and to fly with they onlu go 10-15 miles an hour and it takes about 3 to inflate

Dear Friend Yes I agree you go, I think with change in time and technology in near future we may have fast running baloons lets wait some more time to do that Happy Mylotting Take Care Ganesh

That would be cool. There is a major problem with hot air and gas balloons in general though, and that is that they are not self-propelled. Basically, steering one means raising it or lowering it into a wind current that is blowing in the direction you want to go. It's not usually a very fast, easy, or reliable means of transportation and you'd have to keep everything very light for a small balloon to get off the ground.

wont happen.. its slow.. there would be too much danger with people crashing into things and then people might go into flying areas of planes.. not to mention goverment security would go crazy because there would be a ton of flying threats everywhere

Dear Friend I think for a single or two three persons site of the baloon need not be larger , but I think if you also decide to ride you should not fear as I may accompany you lol to save you , if some problem seems we can drop from baloon using parachutes lol So are you ready to go up on hot air baloon Thanks for your response and such a nice information...! Yes it would be fun flying a balloon.I actually tried it once. It was the best feeling ever! But I don't think its a good idea using it as a personal vehicle. First of all, you have to be very skillful in handling it. You got totally no control in steering it. It would only go where the winds pointed at. Meaning no left, no right and no backward steering. And electrical power lines also poses threats. You can use it in an open field but not in populated cities. Happy Mylotting... :)

Dear Friend wow good that you personally travelled on hot air baloon . Even we need to learn and have skill to derive any vehicle I suppose . But I think we have very advance technology ,smart engines can be made and installed on baloons that can easily give choice for moving in all directions. Yes hot air baloons are in evolution change since most people are stuck with their limitations and very few trying to overcome those limitations . Hope with technology it would be a reality Thanks for your response and such a nice information...! Happy Mylotting Take Care Ganesh

First, they aren't cheap, they are expensive to make, they have to have propane to fuel them, a large space to spread them out to inflate, a team of people to inflate them, and THEN you are subject to the whim of the winds to take you places and when you land, you need a large field or space to land it in and some one to take you home after the trip.

Dear Friend I think baloon should be cheaper as it involves only a special type of fabric . We can get it stichhed from hot air baloon Taylor also. And we have lot of space in the air .At home we wont keep it inflated .Yes you are right winds can pose challenges. We can land act country side may be in a village. But I cant find that how would hot air baloon move in opposite direction of wind ? Thanks for your response and such a nice information...!
