Since I have not been working and I have a lot of time on my hands and I spend most of that time sitting here on the computer. I get tired and I get sleepy. I live alone so there isn't that much cleaning to do. I will eventually find something useful to do to keep me busy. My question is do you take a nap during the day?

Sometimes I do. If I'm really tired, then, I will. But it's very rare that I'll take a nap during the afternoon or anything.

I take a nap almost every afternoon. Sometimes they are only 30 minutes, sometimes they last two hours. It just depends on how I'm feeling, if I have alot to do and what the weather is like. Today it was dark, cold and windy. A perfect day to curl up on the couch with the dogs and take a nap while the wind blew thru the trees. They say an afternoon nap is actually good for you. (And I can use any excuse I can to nap, lol.)

I have tried very hard to not take naps even though I am tired as I was told it was bad for me. Maybe I should give up and just curl up in a chair instead of falling asleep at the computer.

Being retired or out of work gives us more time to do other things such as using the computer so we tend to stay up longer. When on the internet time seams to go faster and before we realise it is later than we thought' So the answer has to be yes for me as if I am not tired the I tend to stay on the computer longer than normal. So having more time makes it convenient to have a nap during the day. Have a great day from Deeeky

I do when I get bored or really very tired.. I was just thinking about taking one in a little while.. It is a bad habit to get into, especially if it comes from boredom.. I do hope you can find another job, even part-time, to keep you occupied and so you don't get so bored..

Thank U. I laid down but didn't go to sleep. The day go by so fast, around 5ish the sun starts going down and before you know it its dark. So napping in the winter time is not good.

No I do not take nap during the day time. I sleep only once that is in the night. Some times when I am tired I do take rest during the day but I hardly sleep during the day.

If I'm tired and can spare a few hours to take a nice nap then I usually try to take a nap. It's relaxing, refreshing and it's kind of like me time. A time where I can just relax and not have to worry much about what is going on around me. Sometimes it's just nice to take a nap.

No, I am not a nap taker myself unless I am sick and the meds make me sleepy. I know my mother used to always say, if I could just nod off for about 5 minutes or she would tell me to wake her up on 30 minutes. If I nap during the day just because I am tired, I wake up feeling horrible.

I am home now too, I was laid off from my job in June. During the summer months, after surfing the net and looking in the paper for jobs plus doing my household chores, I did not desire a nap. Now that it is cold out, and there is not many job opportunities, I sometimes feel like I would like a nap during the day. But, with the ringing of the phone, and my husband constantly hungry, I do not get a chance to take one. Actually, I wanted a nap today, but between the phone ringing and my husband calling, and me cooking, I just gave up on that thought.

I take a nap during the day, as sometimes I do not get much sleep in the night, and sometimes, I just want to pass the time quickly until my spouse comes home.

I used to before my youngest was born. I'd take a nap when my oldest was napping. I miss those days.

Hi Chevee, I used to but this time, not anymore..Hubby and I wake up very early during weekdays and after he left to work, I will go back in bed and wake up again late so, made me not to have any nap during the day. I will consume my time cleaning, chatting with friends and watching series or news! But, when I am too tired due to whatever reasons, I will try always to take a rest by napping!

I try very hard not to nap during the day as I have been told it is not good for me. I manage my tiredness fairly well and most days I can get through without naps. But I do have not slept well for 2 years and some days I am so tired that I will just fall asleep at the computer.

Yes I do. For some odd reason sitting around on the computer and doing absolutely nothing all day can be very tiring. I know it sounds funny but I think that it has to do with a lazy attitude. That's my reason for sleeping in the day sometimes.

No i don't nap, if I did I wouldn't sleep at night. I will read, or Quilt or other hobby stuff. I might even talk with my husband. Thus is the life of the retired.

I don't take naps very often, but there are times I just don't seem to be able to keep my eyes open and I'll take a nap during those periods. I'll admit that I do watch a lot of television with my eyes closed, but that's not the same thing (in my opinion) as napping.

People feel sleepy after a heavy lunch. To keep mind clear in the afternoon, better mind your lunch. People who have trouble with liver or digestion had better lie down for half an hour. The elderly are also supposed to have a knap to recollect to keep fit for later activities. Especially in hot days, knap is highly recommended. I normally do not have a knap unless really feel like it becaise I might have difficulty in going to sleep if I have a knap. For youngsters, better get organized with time, so as to keep a healthy mind and meaningful day.
