Recent Fight of Pacquiao and Dela Hoya De la Hoya who looked old and thin was easily beaten by the Filipino living legend Manny Pacquiao. I heard rumors that Dela Hoya was just looking for real money that's why he gambled on reducing his weight to even Pacman's weight which had caused his defeat in the hands of Manny. When asked if losing weight was the problem he denied it. He had that weight long time ago in 2001. After all these years he gained more pounds and reducing weight would involve hectic diet and losing energy. We can see it was one of the reasons why he was very different during the fight.

Pacquiao is just beyond godlike in boxing. the winner was decided the moment it started. Pacquiao owned him.

I believe so. It was really an ordeal for him to reduce his weight. It's not only his weight was reduced but also his strength and stamina. It is really hard for him to fight at that condition with a very short time of adjusting to his new weight. May if it is on the gaining of weight like Manny Pacquiao, that is easier to handle. You build more weight, more muscle and more strength. Dela Hoya's size and talent did not overcome his ordeal of losing weight. It was really pretty tough for him to fight in that condition.

I don't know that money was really an issue for him. I have read a lot about it, but have been told that he owns a big company. I think it is called Golden Boy Industries or something like that. If he is making plenty of money with his business, I don't think he really needed all the money from the fight. I do agree that he looked completely out of shape compared to Pacquiao in the fight. I didn't catch it live, but saw the replay on Saturday a week and a half ago. He really just wasn't getting much done in there. Do you think he would have been better off retiring before that match?
