Being alone does not necessarily means being lonely. But when one is alone during Christmas, this is usually considered pitiable. have you every experienced being alone during Christmas due to inevitable experiences? What do you suggest for a person who would be apparently alone on Christmas eve? This is not me, for sure..lol,.thanks for your suggestions. Merry Christmas,

There are years when I am alone on Christmas eve....what do I do? Watch all my favorite Christmas movies....make myself something special to eat like this fancy dip with chips....and just enjoy myself. I do have a friend though who spends alot of them alone...unfortuantely she drinks alone too trying to cover up the lonliness. I use the time to enjoy myself.

That's unfortunate Jill, I hope I'll not come to that point. I do enjoy being alone. I love to read and be on the internet that's why and yes watch movies. Thanks for the vital comment. Happy holidays.

Being alone for the holidays is not a bad idea depending upon how you look at it. Are you close to family? Near relatives, friends or social areas? Last but not lease, you join a organization for the needy. There's plenty of people who do not have.

When I was alone on Christmas eve, I would venture out and look at all the light displays on houses and in yards. I would also go to chuch, the Christmas eve service. Then I would go home, fix some hot cocoa, snuggle in a warm blanket, and read a good book. It is hard to be alone at Christmas time and many people do feel lonely...even I have felt this way. But, if you try to make it a positive experience, it can be a lot less lonely.
